Overview

The FARO PAM250 LED lamp is a pendant luminaire designed for interior spaces where design matters as much as functionality. It is attached to the ceiling with a height-adjustable cable, allowing it to be adapted to different ceiling heights without complications. Its matte black finish with gold details gives it a contemporary character that fits well in a living room, dining room, or bedroom.

The integrated LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm color temperature that creates a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The driver is included, so there is no need to look for additional components. With 24W and 1875 lumens, it produces enough light to illuminate an area pleasantly without being excessive.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine rigorous technical criteria with a clear focus on contemporary interior design.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the ceiling point has a suitable junction box to support the weight of the assembly. The fixture is attached directly to the ceiling using the included bracket. Since this is a pendant luminaire with a cable of up to 1805 mm total length, it is advisable to plan the final height before making the connection. For electrical installation, consult an electrician if you have no prior experience with this type of work.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the steel body or on the PMMA diffuser, as they may damage the finish. Always disconnect the power before handling or cleaning the product.

Design and use

The body of this lamp is constructed in steel with a matte black finish, a material that provides solidity and resistance to everyday use. The gold details contrast with the black in a restrained way, without being overly eye-catching. The overall piece has a clear, modern visual presence that stands out without overpowering the rest of the space.

The oval PMMA diffuser with an opal finish distributes light evenly downward. This avoids direct glare and produces a soft illumination that covers the area beneath the lamp well. The oval shape of the diffuser maintains a balanced silhouette, without sharp edges, which contributes to the contemporary look that characterizes the PAM250 model.

In the living room, this luminaire can be placed over a coffee table or at the focal point of the room, where the warm 3000K light creates a relaxed atmosphere during the evening or night. In the dining room it works especially well over the table, as the adjustable cable height allows it to be set at the correct distance from the work surface. In the bedroom, a lamp of these characteristics can replace a more generic ceiling solution, providing a main light point with more personality.

The room can also benefit from this luminaire if used as the main light source in medium-sized spaces. The 24W power and 1875 lumens are adequate to cover an area of between 8 and 12 square meters with good ambient lighting.

The oval PAM250 model is not intended for the bathroom, as it does not have an IP protection rating against moisture. It is also not the most suitable choice for a kitchen where there is a lot of steam or grease in the environment. However, it can work well in an open-plan or integrated-concept kitchen, where conditions are similar to those of a living room.

As for integration with other decorative elements, the matte black finish pairs well with dark wood, metal, and exposed concrete surfaces. The gold details allow it to be combined with other brass or gold accessories without looking forced. It adapts to styles ranging from contemporary to proposals with certain nods to Nordic design or even industrial aesthetics in spaces where metallic finishes and clean lines predominate.

Pendant lights of this type are often a simple solution for visually refreshing a space without the need for renovation work. Simply replacing an existing ceiling lamp with this model is enough to noticeably change the character of the room. The warm light it emits generates a sense of comfort that is difficult to achieve with cooler color temperatures.

Questions and answers

Is the diffuser on this pendant lamp made of glass or another material?

The diffuser is not made of glass. It is manufactured in PMMA with an opal finish, a material that is lighter and more impact-resistant than conventional glass, which distributes light evenly without bright spots.

Can the cable length of this ceiling lamp be adjusted?

Yes. The total length indicated is 1805 mm, but the cable can be adjusted during installation to adapt it to the ceiling height and the desired position of the luminaire.

Is this oval pendant lamp suitable for installation in a bathroom?

No. The PAM250 model does not have an IP rating for humid environments, so it is not suitable for bathrooms or spaces with direct exposure to water or intense steam.
