Overview

This pendant lamp from the FARO brand is designed for interior spaces where a clean, characterful light source is desired. Its fiberglass structure in a matte white finish gives it a contemporary look, without being ostentatious. It is an option that fits well in the dining room, living room, or even in a large bedroom where the ceiling has enough height to showcase a piece of this size.

The 700 mm diameter makes this lamp the central element of any space. It does not go unnoticed, but it does not overwhelm either. The oval shape balances presence and visual lightness, and the matte white adapts to different styles without imposing just one.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine aesthetic judgment and carefully crafted materials, and this pendant lamp is a good example of that philosophy.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp, verify that the ceiling has a solid anchor point capable of supporting the weight of the assembly. The net weight is 6.15 kg, so the ceiling fixing must be firm and made on a resistant surface. The total mounted height can reach 2325 mm, so it is important to measure the distance from the ceiling to the floor to ensure that the pendant hangs at a comfortable and functional height. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially for the wiring connections. The socket is E27, compatible with standard LED bulbs on the market.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the fiberglass surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. Always turn off the lamp and let it cool before cleaning it or changing the bulb. Do not exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W for the compatible LED light source type.

Design and use

Fiberglass is a material that allows the shaping of lightweight pieces with good structural consistency. In this FARO pendant lamp, that material results in a shade with a matte white finish that diffuses light softly, without glare or irregularities on the surface. The oval shape with a 700 mm diameter creates a balanced visual presence: large without feeling heavy, striking without competing with the rest of the space.

In the dining room, a lamp of these dimensions works very well over a long table. The light descends in a concentrated manner, defines the table area, and gives the space a sense of order and warmth. In the living room, if the ceiling is high enough, it can act as a centerpiece without the need to add more main light sources. The oval shape and white color allow it to coexist with furniture of different finishes, whether light, dark, or natural.

In a kitchen with a central island or a large work area, this pendant lamp can provide functional lighting while also contributing a prominent visual element. It is not a discreet lamp, but it is not overwhelming either. The matte white of the body does not reflect the surroundings, which helps keep the focus on the space and not on the lamp itself.

For the bedroom, its use depends on the type of atmosphere to be created. If the room has high ceilings and a characterful focal point is desired, this pendant lamp can be a fitting choice. With a warm-toned LED bulb, the result is an enveloping light that completely changes the perception of the space.

The matte white finish works well with Nordic-style interiors, where light tones and natural materials predominate. It can also work in more eclectic spaces, where it coexists with textures such as wood or rattan, without any element imposing itself over the others. The oval shape gives it a contemporary touch that distances this piece from more classic or rustic models, bringing it closer to a clean and current design.

As for lighting, this lamp works with a single E27 LED source, which makes maintenance easier and allows the color temperature to be chosen according to the use of the space. For work areas or kitchens, a cooler temperature offers greater clarity. For the bedroom or living room, a warm temperature creates a more relaxed atmosphere.

The pendant comes ready to install, although the bulb is not included. This allows the user to choose the type of LED that best suits their needs. Compatibility with universal voltage between 100V and 240V makes it suitable for any standard domestic installation.

Questions and answers

Does the lamp require a special ceiling anchor due to its weight of 6.15 kg?

Yes. Given that the net weight is 6.15 kg, the ceiling fixing point must be anchored to a solid surface, such as concrete or a beam. A plug in a plasterboard without reinforcement is not sufficient. It is recommended to use the appropriate anchors for the type of ceiling and, if in doubt, consult with an installer.

What type of bulb is compatible with this pendant lamp?

It uses an E27 socket, which is the most common standard on the market. The maximum power is 15 W, so an LED bulb that does not exceed that limit must be used. The bulb is not included in the package.

Is the oval shape of the shade symmetrical in all its dimensions?

Yes. The length, depth, and total diameter all coincide at 700 mm, so the oval shade is completely symmetrical. This makes it easy to center over round or square tables, or in spaces where visual symmetry is important.
