Design and use

The HAKA lamp has an oval rattan shade that filters light in a natural way. The weave is not uniform: it has small variations inherent to the material, and this causes the light passing through it to project textured shadows on the walls and ceiling. It is not an abrupt or theatrical effect. It is something softer — an atmosphere you notice when you are in the room, not something that catches your eye from the hallway.

The structure is made of steel with a black finish. It is a neutral tone that pairs well with light woods, white or grey furniture, warm-coloured walls, or exposed concrete surfaces. Black does not compete with its surroundings — it organises them. This pendant lamp can work alone as the main light source in a medium-sized room, or it can be combined with other lights to create a more complete lighting scheme.
