Overview

The FARO DOME S lamp is a suspension luminaire designed for the ceiling of spaces where light needs to do more than just illuminate. It works well in the dining room, living room, a large bedroom, or even in contract projects where visual coherence is sought without losing warmth. Its diffuser shade distributes light evenly and the dimmable system allows the intensity to be adjusted according to the time of day or the atmosphere desired.

The design is the work of Faro Lab, FARO's internal creative team, a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. DOME S reinterprets the classic hanging lamp with clean lines and an oval shape that does not seek to draw attention, but to integrate naturally into the environment. The satin black finish and steel construction give it presence without feeling overloaded.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a previously enabled ceiling light point is required. The hanging lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling using the included bracket. It is recommended that the electrical connection be made by a qualified electrician, especially if there is no prior wiring at the chosen point. Before any intervention, make sure the circuit is switched off at the electrical panel. The E27 LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately; a bulb compatible with dimmable systems is recommended if you want to take advantage of the dimmable function.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth. A slightly damp cloth may be used if necessary, without abrasive products or solvents that could affect the satin black finish. The lamp should not be handled while the installation is live.

Design and use

DOME S is a ceiling pendant lamp with a rounded oval shape reminiscent of classic domes, but with a clearly contemporary reading. The steel body with satin black finish has a matte feel and a restrained visual presence: it integrates without imposing. The diffuser shade distributes light downward softly, without creating harsh shadows or glare points. That combination means the lamp works both when on and off: when there is no light, it remains an orderly element within the space.

The dimmable function is one of the most useful aspects in everyday use. The same ceiling lamp that illuminates clearly during a meal can be dimmed to create a more peaceful atmosphere at the end of the day. In the bedroom, that possibility makes a real difference. In the living room, it allows the light to be adapted to different activities without changing anything else.

The oval design is not a minor detail. The rounded silhouette softens the overall look and makes the pendant lamp fit well with furniture with curved lines or natural materials such as wood. It also coexists without tension with more austere interiors, where the black steel becomes a punctual accent against light backgrounds.

In the dining room, an oval lamp above the table visually organizes the space and concentrates attention on the center of the room. The size of DOME S, with a diameter of 423 mm, is suitable for medium-sized tables without being disproportionate. In the kitchen, a suspension luminaire of this type can be placed above an island or a work area, where good concentrated light is needed without losing the visual order of the ensemble.

In the bathroom, as long as the installation is carried out outside the wet zones and the ceiling point allows it, DOME S provides a warmer, more enveloping light than recessed spotlights. The E27 socket-compatible LED lamp allows a color temperature to be chosen that favors that type of atmosphere.

For contract projects, such as restaurants, cafeterias, or workspaces with residential use, DOME S offers a solution that does not require large investments in installation or maintenance. The satin black finish withstands continuous use well and does not show marks easily.

The oval shape and dark finish are compatible with different decorative styles: from Nordic interiors with a predominance of white and wood, to more industrial spaces where iron and steel are already present in other elements. The pendant lamp does not need a very defined context to work well; it adapts easily to its surroundings.

Questions and answers

Does the DOME S lamp include a bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The E27 LED light source is not included. It must be purchased separately. If you want to use the lamp's dimmable function, it is advisable to choose an LED bulb compatible with dimmer switches.

What is the diameter of the DOME S oval shade?

The total diameter of the luminaire is 423 mm. It is a size that adapts well to standard dining tables or medium-sized kitchen islands, without taking up too much of the visual field.

How much does the pendant lamp weigh once installed on the ceiling?

The net weight of the product is 2.1 kg. This is relevant information to verify that the anchor point on the ceiling can support the load before proceeding with installation.
