Overview

COSMOS is a pendant lamp in Scandinavian style, designed for those looking for a light source that is also a visual element. It is installed on the ceiling and works well in spaces where the bulb can be displayed without shades to conceal it. The Nordic design makes this luminaire fit naturally in a quiet dining room, a kitchen with clean lines, or a room where a characterful detail is desired.

The concept behind COSMOS is simple: letting the bulb take center stage. The bronze finish on the metal body adds warmth without feeling overdone. It is not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it does not compete with the rest of the space either — rather, it complements it.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Their products combine careful design with durable materials and are intended for real domestic use.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp on the ceiling, it is recommended to have an existing electrical junction box at the anchor point. Since it is a pendant luminaire, it is advisable to check the available headroom in the space before hanging it: the cable length is up to 1400 mm, allowing adjustment according to ceiling height. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or a person with basic knowledge of domestic electrical work. Before making any connections, cut the power supply at the distribution board.

The aluminum and steel body with a bronze finish does not require abrasive products for cleaning. A dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient to remove dust. The opal glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth; avoid aggressive liquids or abrasive pads that could scratch the surface. Do not handle the LED bulb with unprotected hands, as the natural oils from the skin can affect its lifespan.

Design and use

COSMOS is a hanging ceiling lamp that chooses to display the bulb as the central design element. Rather than concealing it behind a shade or closed cover, the ensemble is designed so that the light source is visible and becomes part of the aesthetic of the space. It is a design decision that works especially well in interiors where a Nordic or clean-lined style is sought.

The body is made of aluminum and steel, materials that ensure stability and durability without adding unnecessary weight. Its bronze finish adds a warm touch that contrasts well with white, grey, or natural wood surfaces. It is not a bright or flashy finish, but matte and understated — the kind of detail that adds without overwhelming.

The opal glass diffuser distributes light softly. The 3000K color temperature produces a warm white light, similar to classic incandescent light, which is pleasant for spaces where time is spent: a living room with a sofa and bookcase, a bedroom for late-night reading, or a dining room where the family gathers for meals. This type of light does not strain the eyes and creates a relaxed atmosphere without being too dim.

The included SMD LED bulb has a power of 5 W, sufficient to illuminate a small space or serve as complementary lighting in a larger one. In kitchens with several distributed lights, a pendant lamp like COSMOS can be used above a central island or over a work table. In a spacious, well-ventilated bathroom, it can function as a decorative light point alongside other light sources.

The 220 mm diameter makes it a compact lamp. It fits well in spaces with standard ceiling heights, although the cable length of up to 1400 mm allows it to be hung higher or lower depending on the setting. In a living room with a high ceiling, it can be suspended at mid-height to create a visual plane. In a small room, the cable can be shortened so it sits closer to the ceiling and does not interfere with movement.

This pendant lamp pairs well with Nordic, Scandinavian, or modern-trend furniture featuring natural materials. The bronze of the body can resonate with metal handles, picture frames, or table legs in similar tones. It also fits in environments that mix vintage elements with more contemporary details, thanks to its simple shape and warm finish.

The net weight of under 600 grams makes it a lightweight piece, easy to handle during installation and with no special structural requirements for the ceiling.

Questions and answers

Is the LED bulb included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED bulb is included. There is no need to purchase it separately — the lamp is ready to connect and switch on from the very first moment.

Does the suspension cable allow the hanging height of the lamp to be adjusted?

The maximum cable length is 1400 mm. In most installations, it is possible to coil the excess cable inside the ceiling mounting element to leave the lamp at the desired height.

Does the opal glass diffuser fully cover the bulb or is it left exposed?

The design of COSMOS is specifically intended to leave the bulb visible. The opal glass does not enclose or conceal the light source; rather, it forms part of the ensemble while leaving the bulb as a visible design element.
