Overview

The CONGA pendant lamp by FARO is a ceiling luminaire designed for interiors where style and functionality go hand in hand. This version with a multiple canopy of 5 lights illuminates broadly and evenly, distributing light in several directions from a single installation point on the ceiling. It is a suitable option for the living room, dining room, or any space where a generous surface area needs to be covered without installing several separate light points.

The matte black finish on the steel body gives it a defined and restrained appearance. The white papyrus shade softens the emitted light, preventing direct glare. The overall piece has a clear presence in the space without feeling overloaded.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its collections combine contemporary design criteria with materials selected for domestic and professional use.

Installation and specifications

This pendant luminaire is fixed directly to the ceiling via a canopy. Before installing it, make sure the anchor point on the ceiling is solid and that the wiring is correctly prepared. The cable has a generous length of up to 5000 mm, allowing you to adjust the height of the lamp according to the needs of the space. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Please note that the E27 LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The papyrus shade is delicate: avoid contact with water and do not use abrasive products. Always turn off the lamp before cleaning it and wait for the bulbs to cool down. Do not exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W per light point.

Design and use

The CONGA collection was developed by Faro Lab as a proposal for interior lighting with a direct visual language and no superfluous decorative elements. The 5-light version with a multiple canopy is the most complete in the collection: it groups five light points in a single pendant structure, making it a practical solution for large spaces where a single lamp would not cover the area sufficiently.

The body is made of steel with a matte black finish. This material provides solidity to the structure and ensures that the lamp maintains its shape over time, without deformations or visible deterioration from everyday use. Matte black, unlike glossy finishes, does not reflect ambient light and integrates discreetly into ceilings of different colors and textures.

Each of the five arms holds an oval shade made of white papyrus. Papyrus is a lightweight material that filters the light from the bulbs softly, creating a warm and uniform atmosphere in the room. The oval shade has a diameter of 500 mm, providing a wide diffusion surface. Unlike glass or crystal, papyrus does not produce harsh reflections or concentrated light areas.

This pendant lamp fits well in medium or large dining rooms, where the central lighting needs to cover a table for several diners. It also works in living rooms with high ceilings, where the length of the cable allows the shades to be positioned at a comfortable height for the eyes. In the bedroom, the five distributed lights create an enveloping illumination without relying on auxiliary points. Even in an open-plan kitchen, the lamp can act as a visual element that separates zones without erecting walls.

For hospitality environments, such as restaurants, hotels, or coworking spaces with a carefully considered aesthetic, the modern lamp from the CONGA collection offers an appropriate scale. Its neutral profile allows it to be combined with furniture of different styles: from contemporary design pieces to wooden tables with more rustic or industrial finishes. The contrast between the black of the body and the white of the oval shades works well both in monochromatic spaces and in interiors with a greater variety of color.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows you to choose the color temperature according to the desired atmosphere. Warm light enhances the sense of comfort in rest or gathering spaces. A more neutral light is suitable for work environments or kitchens. The lamp accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, so it can be used without adaptations in different countries.

In a room with few decorative elements, the five hanging oval shades add visual volume without overwhelming the space. In a large bathroom with a high ceiling, the lamp can function as the main light point if the layout of the space allows it.

Questions and answers

Does the suspension cable allow you to adjust the height at which the shades hang?

Yes. The cable has a maximum length of 5000 mm, which offers a wide margin to adjust the height of the lamp according to the ceiling height and the preferences of each installation. The adjustment is made during assembly.

Are the five oval shades made of glass or another material?

The oval shades are made of white papyrus, not glass. Papyrus diffuses light softly and is lighter in weight. It requires specific care: it must not get wet or be cleaned with abrasive products.

Is this pendant lamp compatible with E27 bulbs from any brand?

Yes, the E27 socket is a universal standard. You can use any LED bulb of that type, as long as it does not exceed 15 W of maximum power per light point. The bulb is not included in the package.
