Overview

CLAIRE is a pendant ceiling lamp designed for interior spaces where a defined character is sought without resorting to overly decorative elements. Its round metal structure with a black grille gives it a clear and recognizable presence without appearing visually heavy. The inspiration comes from the lamps used on fishing boats — a reference that translates into clean shapes, solid materials, and an aesthetic that sits between industrial and vintage.

It works well in dining rooms, living rooms, and kitchens with standard ceilings, as well as in bedrooms where a central light source with personality is desired. The individual version is complemented by a multiple canopy option with 7 lights, allowing it to be adapted to larger spaces. It is available in other colors for those looking to match it to a different interior palette.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in home lighting. Their products combine design with quality materials, built to last over time without losing aesthetic coherence.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an existing ceiling light point is required. As this is a pendant lamp with a cable, it is recommended to verify the available clearance height before mounting it, especially in spaces with low ceilings. Wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before any intervention in the electrical system, make sure to cut the power at the main panel. The lamp is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, so no adapter is required for standard domestic installations. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To clean the metal structure, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the gloss black finish. The grille may accumulate dust over time; a soft brush or compressed air is sufficient to keep it in good condition. Do not expose the lamp to direct humidity, as it is designed for use in dry indoor spaces.

Design and use

The CLAIRE ceiling lamp has a structure made of steel with a gloss black finish. The assembly includes an oval part with a grille reminiscent of the functional lights on fishing vessels — a detail that gives it its own identity without the need for additional ornamentation. The round shape of the main body and the texture of the grille create a visual interplay between solid and void, between opaque and permeable.

In a dining room, this pendant lamp over a long table creates a central light focus that defines the space without enclosing it. The overall scale is appropriate for tables seating between four and six people. In living rooms with medium or high ceilings, it works as the main lighting piece, especially if the rest of the furniture follows a sober or industrial style.

In the kitchen, a lamp of this type above the island or work area provides both functional light and a visual reference point. The gloss black finish contrasts well with light countertops or natural wood, allowing it to be integrated into modern kitchens or those with a more rustic style without forcing the combination.

In bedrooms with medium-height ceilings, the individual version is sufficient as a central light point. The pendant lamp can be adjusted in height thanks to the cable, allowing it to be set at the desired distance from the ceiling without additional modifications. For larger rooms or those with double height, the 7-light version with a multiple canopy offers greater light coverage while maintaining the aesthetic coherence of the series.

The CLAIRE lamp also fits in transition spaces with a certain openness — a generous entryway or a wide hallway where a characterful light point is desired. In all these cases, the black color and the oval metal grille integrate well with other iron or steel elements present in the space: shelving, door frames, or furniture legs.

The option to choose other colors makes CLAIRE versatile beyond black. Depending on the selected finish, it can adapt to lighter Nordic interiors or to environments with wood and warm tones. The E27 LED bulb installed will influence the type of light produced: a warm-temperature bulb reinforces an intimate atmosphere, while a neutral light bulb turns it into a more functional source.

Regarding the bathroom, if the space has sufficiently high ceilings and the installation area is not directly exposed to humidity, a lamp of these characteristics can function as a decorative element in dry areas, although a professional should always be consulted before installing it in that environment.

Questions and answers

Does the CLAIRE lamp include the E27 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No. The luminaire does not include the light source. A bulb with an E27 fitting and LED technology, with a maximum power of 15W, must be purchased separately.

Can the cable height of the pendant lamp be adjusted?

The total height of the assembly is 1640 mm. In many suspension models it is possible to adjust the cable length during installation, although this adjustment must be made by the installer at the time of mounting.

Is the gloss black finish of the oval structure resistant to daily use?

The gloss black finish on steel is durable under normal indoor use conditions. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it with a soft cloth and avoid aggressive chemical products that may deteriorate the surface.
