Overview

The THON wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor spaces. It is installed on facades, garden walls, home entrances, and terraces where ordered and long-lasting lighting is desired. The light beam projects both upward and downward, creating a clean visual effect on the surface where it is mounted.

This wall light uses COB LED technology and has an opal glass diffuser that softens the light. There are no areas with excess brightness or harsh shadows — the illumination is distributed in a balanced way. The body is made of die-cast aluminium in dark grey, giving it a solid presence without taking up too much visual space.

FARO is a company with years of experience in interior and exterior luminaires. Their products are designed for real use: direct installation, resistant materials, and design that requires no constant maintenance.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, check that the surface is firm and flat. As this is an outdoor luminaire, it is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Verify that the wall wiring is prepared for outdoor use and that the connection is at 220V–240V. Make sure to cut the power before any intervention.

To clean the aluminium body, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. The opal glass diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not direct pressurised water directly onto the lamp, although the IP55 rating provides protection against rain under normal conditions.

Design and use

The THON wall light has a contemporary design that fits well on modern-style facades, but also works in more neutral spaces where an overly prominent decorative element is not desired. The shape is compact: 300 mm high, 140 mm long, and 175 mm deep. It does not protrude excessively from the wall, but it does not go unnoticed either.

The die-cast aluminium body is what gives it its solidity. This material does not rust with outdoor humidity and maintains its shape against temperature changes. The dark grey finish is uniform and withstands prolonged sun exposure without losing its colour. For those looking for a lamp that does not require frequent checks, this point is relevant.

The opal glass diffuser is an important part of the visual result. Unlike a transparent diffuser, the opal distributes the light without the source being directly visible. This means that from the garden or terrace, the light point of the bulb is not perceived, but rather a soft luminous surface. The effect is more comfortable for the eyes and gives a more refined appearance to the whole.

The colour temperature of 3000K corresponds to warm light. Outdoors, this type of light creates a calm atmosphere at night, without the coldness of higher colour tones. It is especially suitable for terraces where time is spent after sunset or for entrances where welcoming lighting is desired without being dim.

The wall light projects light in two directions: upward and downward. This allows the facade or wall to be illuminated in both directions, giving volume to the space and preventing the lamp from appearing as a simple point of light. In gardens with stone or brick walls, this bidirectional effect highlights the texture of the material. On smooth surfaces, it creates a gradual fade that is visually more interesting.

The IP55 protection rating ensures that neither dust nor rain affects the lamp's operation under normal outdoor use conditions. It is not necessary to remove it during rainy seasons or to protect it specially against humidity. This makes it suitable for variable climates, where temperature and rainfall can change frequently.

Regarding installation, this wall light is fixed directly onto the surface using standard anchoring. The wiring enters from the back, keeping the finish clean from the outside. No visible cables or elements that break the design line are left exposed.

For those renovating a home entrance, installing lighting on a covered terrace, or looking for a garden wall light that works well for years without complications, the THON offers a straightforward solution. It has no complex optional accessories and requires no special configurations. It is installed, connected, and works.
