Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to switch off the power supply before beginning assembly. Design and use

The LAKO wall light by FARO is built on an aluminium structure that keeps the weight low — under one kilogram — without sacrificing solidity. The matte white finish is uniform and does not draw excessive attention, which means the lamp integrates well into light-coloured facades, whitewashed walls, or smooth surfaces in any neutral tone. It is not a fixture that seeks visual prominence; its function is to provide clear illumination and do so discreetly.

The prismatic glass diffuser distributes light in a controlled manner within a 90-degree angle to one side only. This has a clear practical advantage: there is no unnecessary dispersion towards areas where light is not needed. If installed above the front door, for example, the beam is directed towards the floor and the immediate space in front of the door, without disturbing neighbours or illuminating parts of the wall that serve no purpose.

The colour temperature of 3000K provides warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent lamp. This tone is particularly pleasant outdoors at night, as it does not create the cold, clinical sensation associated with higher colour temperatures. It is comfortable for terraces, entrances, and gardens where a relaxed atmosphere is desired without losing visibility.

The included SMD LED source operates at a power of 8W, sufficient to cover a passageway or entrance area without generating an excess of light that would be uncomfortable. Since the LED is integrated and already included, there is no need to search for compatible bulbs or worry about the type of fitting.

Although the wall light does not incorporate its own motion sensor, it is fully compatible with external systems that include a motion detector or timer. Simply install the sensor in the corresponding circuit and the wall light responds without any modification. This allows functionality to be added to the installation without changing the lamp. In access areas where the light is only to be activated by movement, this option is common and easy to implement.

The compact format — 220mm long and 48mm high — allows it to be installed in spaces where larger wall lights would not fit. It works well on entrance columns, door frames, garden walls, or any area where space is limited. For a terrace with several light points, placing two or three units of this wall light at different heights can create a very balanced lighting effect without visually overwhelming the space.

As for the facade, the matte white of the wall light body does not stand out aggressively against white or light-coloured walls, nor does it contrast discordantly against darker finishes. It is a wall light that adapts without complication to the majority of residential environments.

The light is projected in one direction only, at a 90-degree angle. This means that during installation, the orientation of the wall light must be taken into account so that the beam points exactly at the area to be illuminated, whether that is the floor in front of the entrance, a garden wall, or a path on the terrace.

What level of protection does IP65 offer against typical outdoor conditions in Spain?

IP65 guarantees complete protection against dust and against water jets from any direction. This means the lamp withstands direct rain without issue, making it suitable for outdoor installations without the need for any additional coverage.

Is it necessary to purchase the bulb separately or is it already included with the LAKO wall light?

The SMD LED light source is already included with the wall light. It is not necessary to purchase any additional components for the basic operation of the fixture once installed.
