Overview

The FARO outdoor wall light is a wall lamp designed for open-air spaces: garden, terrace, façade, or any passageway that needs functional and discreet lighting. It mounts directly on the wall and directs the light beam both upward and downward, creating a clean decorative effect without the need to install multiple spotlights.

The aluminum body and tempered glass diffuser ensure the wall light withstands outdoor conditions well. The integrated LED technology provides neutral white light at 4000K, sufficient to illuminate without being intrusive and with reduced consumption compared to traditional light sources.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the lighting sector. Its luminaires combine functionality and careful design, intended to integrate well in both modern environments and more classic spaces.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall surface is clean, dry, and sturdy enough to support the anchor. The wiring must be switched off throughout the entire installation process. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. The lamp connects to a standard mains supply between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the usual voltage in Spain and most countries.

To clean the aluminum body, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a residue-free glass cleaner. Do not direct pressurized water directly at the lamp.

Design and use

The FARO wall light combines a compact design with a construction built to last outdoors. Its dimensions — 160 mm high, 100 mm long, and 70 mm deep — allow it to be installed in spaces with limited clearance without feeling intrusive. The weight of 0.77 kg makes it easy to handle during installation, though its aluminum structure conveys solidity from the very first moment.

The dark grey finish pairs well with neutral-toned façades, stone walls, or concrete cladding. It is not a striking spotlight, but rather one of those wall lights that blends into the surroundings without distorting them. That said, the transparent glass diffuser adds a visible presence when the lamp is on: light emerges noticeably both above and below, creating two illuminated zones that run vertically along the wall.

This type of light distribution is particularly useful in a garden or on a terrace, where the aim is to define a space or a path without harsh illumination. A wall light like this, placed next to a house entrance or along a walkway, guides without dazzling. It also works well in inner courtyards or covered areas that open to the outside.

The color temperature of 4000K corresponds to neutral white light, neither warm nor cold. It is a balanced option: it does not distort the colors of the surroundings as a very yellow light would, and it does not create the cold feeling that light above 5000K can convey. For a residential garden or a terrace where time is spent in the evenings, this color range is comfortable.

The COB LED light source is already included, so the wall light is ready to install and connect without needing to search for bulbs separately. The consumption of 2x3W is moderate, allowing it to remain on for hours without making a noticeable impact on the electricity bill.

Although it does not incorporate a motion sensor, the wall light can be perfectly combined with an external detector or a home automation system. Installing a motion sensor in the circuit allows the lamp to activate only when presence is detected, which is practical for entrances or passageways. The wall light itself requires no special adjustment to work that way: it behaves like any mains-connected wall luminaire.

The FARO brand manufactures outdoor luminaires with attention to detail in the materials. The aluminum body withstands continuous exposure to the elements well, and the tempered glass diffuser adds robustness against minor impacts or sudden temperature changes. It is neither an old-fashioned decorative lantern nor an industrial-looking technical spotlight: this wall light occupies a middle ground that adapts to contemporary domestic environments without imposing a specific style.

Questions and answers

Does the wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. You do not need to purchase any additional bulb. The wall light arrives ready to install and connect directly to the mains.

Does the transparent glass diffuser allow the light point to be seen directly, or is the light diffused?

Being transparent, the glass does not diffuse the light significantly. The distribution of the beam upward and downward creates the decorative effect, but the light point may be visible if you look directly at the wall light when it is on.

Is it possible to connect this wall light to an external motion sensor?

Yes. As it is a standard mains-connected lamp, it can be integrated without issue into a circuit with an external motion sensor or presence detector. The wall light requires no adaptation to work that way.
