Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It fits well at building entrances, residential facades, garden walls, and terrace areas. Its compact format and white finish allow it to blend into different types of environments without being too eye-catching or too understated.

This wall light offers direct and indirect illumination thanks to an internal light source that remains outside the direct field of vision. This reduces glare and makes the spaces it illuminates more comfortable to be in. It can be oriented upward or downward, which provides flexibility to adapt the light distribution to the needs of each installation.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the lighting sector. Its outdoor products combine technical design with materials intended to withstand the conditions of outdoor use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to cut the power before any intervention in the wiring. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the included anchors. It is advisable to verify that the surface is solid and can support the weight of the assembly. If the wiring runs through the interior of the wall, it is important to leave sufficient cable length before adjusting the body. If in doubt, it is recommended to consult an electrician.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminum surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used. It is advisable to periodically check that the anchors remain securely fastened, especially in areas exposed to wind.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has an aluminum body with a white finish. Aluminum is a material that tolerates outdoor exposure well: it does not rust easily and maintains its appearance with minimal maintenance. The shape is cylindrical and compact, with a diameter of 80 mm and a height of 212 mm, making it suitable for spaces where a large luminaire is not desired.

The light source is of the COB LED type, integrated inside the wall light. This type of technology concentrates several light points on a small surface, which allows a well-defined beam to be obtained. The colour temperature of 3000K produces warm light, close to the tone of traditional incandescent lamps. This type of light is comfortable for entrances, passageways, and outdoor living areas.

One of the most useful aspects of this lamp is the possibility of choosing between two 34-degree aperture angles, one upward and one downward. This allows you to decide in which direction the light is projected depending on the context. On a facade, for example, a downward orientation helps to highlight the texture of the wall and create a sense of intimacy. Oriented upward, the spotlight can illuminate a ceiling area or create a wall-washing effect that is visually softer.

The design includes a drainage system that prevents water from accumulating inside the wall light. This detail is important in climates with frequent rain, where standing water can deteriorate electrical components over time.

Regarding installation, the wall light can be mounted both vertically and horizontally. This broadens the possibilities for use: it is not limited to a single orientation, which gives greater flexibility when positioning it on the wall. The connection is made directly to the electrical mains, at 220-240V, without the need for an additional transformer.

In a garden, this type of luminaire works well on the walls that define the space or next to entrances. On a terrace, a pair of wall lights placed at the same height create an orderly line of light without the need for a central spotlight. It also fits in building entryways, covered outdoor corridors, and facades where targeted, controlled lighting is desired.

The white colour of the body integrates easily into light-coloured facades, whitewashed walls, or natural stone cladding. It does not compete with other decorative elements and fades into the background during the day. At night, the lamp fulfils its function discreetly, without generating light pollution towards areas that do not need to be illuminated.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Is the COB LED light source included with the wall light or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The wall light arrives ready to connect, with the LED lamp already integrated into the body.

Does the KOV wall light's drainage system also protect against water ingress during rain?

The drainage system is designed to prevent water from being retained inside the wall light. Its function is to eliminate accumulated moisture and reduce the risk of deterioration due to standing water.
