Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It fits well at house entrances, facades, covered terraces, and passageways where clean, controlled lighting is needed. Its compact format and matte black finish allow it to blend in without drawing too much attention, while still performing its function well.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of adjustable light direction and a recessed light source. This means the light source is visually protected, reducing direct glare. It can be directed upward, downward, or in both directions, with defined angles of 14º in each direction. This precision in projection is useful when you want to highlight a surface or guide the eye without illuminating the entire surroundings equally.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the lighting industry. Its outdoor products combine technical functionality with a design that does not seek unnecessary prominence.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is advisable to hire an electrician. The wall light is mounted directly onto the wall using the included anchors. Before starting installation, cut the power supply from the fuse box. Check that the mounting surface is solid and level. The wiring must be protected inside the wall or under a conduit suitable for outdoor use.

For maintenance, clean the aluminum surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. Periodically check that the integrated drainage system is not blocked, especially after periods of heavy rain. Do not handle the lamp while the installation is live.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is built in aluminum, a material that holds up well in outdoor conditions. It does not rust easily and maintains its finish longer than other materials exposed to sun and rain. The black color of the body is uniform and does not reflect ambient light, giving it a neat appearance both during the day and at night.

The COB LED light source recessed inside the body of the wall light serves two purposes. On one hand, it protects the components from direct exposure to the elements. On the other, it prevents the lamp from emitting annoying glare when viewed head-on. On a terrace or next to a front door, this makes a difference in terms of visual comfort.

The unidirectional or bidirectional lighting system allows you to decide whether the light goes up, down, or both. With an angle of 14º above and 14º below, the projection is narrow and precise. This is useful when you want to illuminate a specific area of a facade, a garden wall, or the ground next to an access point, without the light scattering where it is not needed.

The color temperature of 2700K produces warm light. Outdoors, this type of light creates a more welcoming atmosphere than cool temperatures. It is especially pleasant at entrances, gardens, or patios where a calm ambiance is desired at nightfall.

The wall light has compact dimensions: 212 mm in height, 80 mm in diameter, and 87 mm in depth. Weighing just over one kilogram, it does not require complex fixings. It can be mounted both vertically and horizontally, providing flexibility when adapting it to different wall configurations or available space.

Although the design is technical and refined, it fits well with various styles. On modern facades with straight lines, it goes unnoticed and reinforces visual coherence. In environments with natural materials such as stone or wood, the black body contrasts in a balanced way. It also works well in combination with other luminaires from the same series when a longer stretch of wall or access needs to be covered.

The integrated drainage system is a practical detail that becomes noticeable over time. In areas where rain is frequent, any water that may accumulate inside the wall light finds an outlet, reducing the risk of moisture damage. It is an element that is not visible, but one that extends the useful life of the product.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be installed horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The wall light's design allows it to be mounted both vertically and horizontally on the wall, depending on the needs of the space or the layout of the existing wiring.

What projection angle does the lamp offer and how does it affect the lighting?

The spotlight projects light at an angle of 14º upward and 14º downward. It is a narrow aperture that concentrates the light on a specific area, ideal for highlighting surfaces or guiding passage without illuminating the surroundings in a diffuse way.

Does the drainage system require any specific maintenance?

It is advisable to periodically check that the drainage system is not blocked by dirt or debris, especially after periods of heavy rain or leaf accumulation. An occasional cleaning is sufficient to keep it in good condition.
