Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installations. It works well at entrances, facades, covered terraces, or any area where controlled and long-lasting lighting is needed. Its circular shape and white finish allow it to blend effortlessly into different types of surfaces, without drawing too much attention to itself.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of a recessed light source with a 14° angle. This means the light is projected precisely, without scattering in unwanted directions. The beam is well-defined, and the immediate surroundings receive exactly the right amount of light. It also allows both unidirectional and bidirectional lighting, and can be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on what the space requires.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in the lighting industry. Its products combine technical criteria with a clear attention to design, focusing on both durability and the visual coherence of the final result.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is important that the wall surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound. The wall light is fixed directly onto the wall with anchors appropriate for the type of material. Before connecting, ensure that the outdoor electrical installation complies with local regulations and that the circuit is de-energized. It is recommended that electrical connection work be carried out by a qualified electrician. The aluminum body includes an internal drainage system that prevents water accumulation, which is especially relevant for outdoor installations.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used, as they can damage the white finish of the body. The LED lamp is included and does not require frequent replacement. If technical inspection is needed, always disconnect the power before handling the wall light.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a round aluminum body with a diameter of 80 mm and a height of 108 mm. It is compact, making it suitable for walls with limited space as well as for compositions where several luminaires are installed in a row. The weight of 0.64 kg makes it easy to fix without the need for complex anchors.

The light source is an integrated COB LED operating at 2700K, a temperature that produces warm light, close to the tone of traditional tungsten. This type of light is pleasant in passageways, garden entrances, or terraces where a calm atmosphere is desired as night falls. The 14° angle concentrates the beam, making this spotlight an interesting option for illuminating specific elements: a plant, a house number, a texture on the wall.

The option of horizontal or vertical mounting considerably expands the range of possible uses. In vertical position, the wall light projects light upward, downward, or in both directions at once. In horizontal position, it can be oriented to illuminate the side of a facade or the edge of a terrace. This flexibility allows the same model to be adapted to different situations without needing to look for another lamp.

The drainage system built into the body is a detail that makes a difference in outdoor installations. Water that may accumulate on the top of the wall light has an exit route, which prevents internal damage and keeps the wall light in good condition over time. In areas with frequent rain or high humidity, this function becomes especially important.

As for visual integration, the white finish adapts well to light-colored facades, plastered walls, or surfaces painted in neutral tones. It can also work as a contrast against darker walls, where the round shape and white color of the body become visible as a decorative element. It is not a classic-style lantern nor an aggressively designed piece, but a clean-lined luminaire that fits into modern environments as well as more understated contexts.

The patio, the main entrance, the side of a house, or the access to a garden are spaces where this wall light performs its function well. It can also be installed in covered outdoor corridors, garages, or service areas where a focused, low-consumption light is needed. With only 6W of power, energy consumption is minimal, which is convenient when the wall light remains on for hours.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted both vertically and horizontally on the wall?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be installed in both orientations on the wall, providing flexibility to adapt the direction of the light to the needs of each space.

Does a color temperature of 2700K produce cold or warm light?

It produces warm light. 2700K corresponds to a tone close to warm white, similar to traditional incandescent light, suitable for creating calm atmospheres outdoors.

Does the drainage system of the wall light protect it from rain?

The drainage system is designed to prevent water from pooling inside the wall light. This is especially useful in installations exposed to rain or humidity, as it protects the internal components of the fixture over time.
