Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It works well at house entrances, facades, covered patios and terrace areas where targeted and controlled lighting is desired. Its compact format allows it to be installed in small spaces without drawing too much attention during the day.

The light it emits is direct or indirect depending on orientation, with a 14° angle that concentrates the beam without dispersing it. This makes it useful when you want to highlight a specific element of the facade or simply guide movement without illuminating the entire area. The light source is integrated and re-emitted, which prevents direct glare when looking at the wall light from the front.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine functional design with materials built to last under real conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor wall light, it is advisable to verify that the surface where it will be fixed is solid and level. Before connecting, make sure the electrical circuit is switched off at the main panel. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is recommended to hire an electrician. The wiring must be protected and not exposed to the elements.

To keep the wall light in good condition, simply clean it periodically with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used on the aluminium surface. It is worth checking from time to time that the fixings remain secure, especially if the area is exposed to wind or rain.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has an aluminium body with a matte black finish. It is a material that withstands exposure to the elements well: it does not rust easily, does not lose its shape with temperature changes and maintains its appearance without the need for additional treatments. The black colour provides a discreet presence that integrates well into both modern facades and stone or brick walls.

The lamp has a round shape, with a diameter of 80 mm and a height of 108 mm. Its dimensions make it suitable for spaces where a larger luminaire would be excessive. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, which gives flexibility when adapting it to the layout of the wall or the direction in which the light is to be projected.

The integrated drainage system in its design prevents water from accumulating inside the wall light. This is especially relevant in areas with frequent rainfall or in exposed locations where water can enter from the top. It is a constructive detail that extends the lamp's service life without the user having to do anything.

The included COB LED light source emits at 2700K, a warm colour temperature that is perceived as ambient light, without the coldness of higher colour tones. The 14° angle concentrates the beam so that the spotlight is well defined. This is useful when you want to illuminate a specific area, such as a house number, a door entrance or a section of garden path, without the light spilling to the sides.

The wall light offers unidirectional or bidirectional illumination. This allows you to choose whether to project light in one direction or two, depending on the desired effect and the position in which it is installed. It is a feature that adds versatility without complicating use.

On a terrace, this type of wall lamp works well as a visual guide at access points or as supplementary lighting in passageways. In the garden, mounted on a wall or on the side facade of a building, it can help mark boundaries or create a more intimate atmosphere as night falls. It is also common to see wall lights of this type at the main entrance of a home, where sunlight no longer reaches and something is needed that works independently of natural light.

The 6W power consumption means energy use is low. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate large surfaces, but to work precisely at specific points. It operates at the standard voltage of 220V-240V, the standard for European domestic installations.

Questions and answers

Can this wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The KOV wall light design allows it to be installed both vertically and horizontally. This provides more options when adapting it to the wall layout and the direction in which the light beam is to be aimed.

Is the LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is already included. There is no need to purchase any additional lamp. The wall light is ready to connect once the electrical installation has been completed.

Does the wall light have any system to prevent water from entering when it rains?

Yes. The design incorporates a drainage system that prevents water from pooling inside. It is specifically designed for outdoor use, where exposure to rain is part of normal use.
