Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for those who want functional lighting without sacrificing a clean and tidy design. It mounts directly onto the wall and emits light in one or two directions depending on the needs of the space. Thanks to its integrated and recessed light source, it avoids direct glare and provides comfortable visibility at entrances, facades, or outdoor passageways.

This wall light stands out for its mounting versatility: it can be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions, allowing it to be adapted to different surfaces and compositions. It also incorporates an internal drainage system that prevents water accumulation, a technical detail that makes a real difference in an outdoor product exposed to rain.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting, known for combining solid technical criteria with careful finishes. Its outdoor luminaire catalogue is designed to meet real-world usage conditions.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to use a qualified electrician. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the corresponding anchors. Before starting the installation, the power supply must be switched off. Verify that the junction box in the wall is compatible with the product's dimensions. The wiring must be protected and not exposed to the outside.

For maintenance, clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. Do not handle the lamp while the power is on. Periodically check the condition of the sealing and fixing points, especially after periods of heavy rain or wind.

Design and use

The KOV wall light by FARO is a compact wall lamp, made of aluminium with a matte black finish. Its reduced dimensions — 108 mm high, 80 mm long, and 87 mm deep — allow it to be integrated effortlessly into spaces where a dominant visual presence is not desired. The weight of 0.7 kg makes it easy to handle during installation.

The 6W COB LED light source with a colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm tone that is pleasant outdoors at dusk. It does not generate the coldness sometimes associated with functional lighting. The 14° angle concentrates the light beam, making it a precise and directed spotlight: useful for marking an entrance, highlighting an architectural detail on a facade, or defining a path in the garden.

The design allows for unidirectional or bidirectional lighting, depending on how it is configured. This option makes it possible to use the same wall light both to illuminate downward and to distribute light in two directions, which can be useful in outdoor corridors or passageways where covering more surface area is desirable.

The option of vertical or horizontal mounting expands its range of uses. On a terrace, for example, it can be placed horizontally above a door frame to create a discreet strip of light. In a patio or garden, fixed vertically on a wall, it acts as an efficient directional spotlight.

The integrated drainage system is one of the most carefully considered elements of this wall light. Outdoors, water that enters through condensation or rain can accumulate inside the housing and cause damage over time. The KOV design anticipates this situation with channels that facilitate water drainage without any intervention required from the user.

The aluminium body offers resistance to corrosion and environmental wear. The black finish, in addition to pairing well with concrete, stone, or dark wood surfaces, maintains its appearance with minimal maintenance. This wall light works well both in environments with contemporary architectural lines and in more understated spaces where the lighting does not need to draw attention to itself.

On a sun-facing terrace, where exposure to the elements is constant, the material and drainage system are factors that determine the product's durability. The same applies to garden areas where morning moisture can accumulate in luminaires. KOV is designed to withstand those conditions without the user having to worry about it.

It can be combined with other luminaires from the same range to create a uniform distribution along a wall or facade. It also works as a standalone wall light when a specific point needs to be illuminated without installing a complete system.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted in both vertical and horizontal positions?

Yes. The design of this lamp allows it to be installed in both orientations, making it easy to adapt to different surfaces and wall lighting needs.

Does the drainage system require periodic maintenance from the user?

No active intervention is required. The drainage is integrated into the structure of the wall light and operates passively. It is recommended to visually check the water outlet points after prolonged periods of rain to ensure there are no blockages.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The wall light arrives ready to connect, with no need to purchase any additional components for it to function.
