Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for those seeking functional lighting without sacrificing a clean and tidy finish. It mounts directly onto the wall and offers direct or indirect light depending on the installation position, allowing the visual result to be adapted to the space where it is placed.

It is a practical solution for entrances, facades, patios, or any outdoor area where a stable and well-defined light point is needed. The compact design and integrated light source make installation straightforward, with no additional accessories required.

FARO is a brand with an established track record in the lighting industry. Its products are characterized by combining technical criteria with a restrained aesthetic, designed to integrate into residential environments without drawing too much attention.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a recessed wall box or suitable anchoring surface is required. Since the wall light is mounted outdoors, it is recommended to verify that the wiring is properly protected against moisture before proceeding. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified professional. The lamp can be oriented vertically or horizontally, which should be decided before fixing the bracket. Check the leveling before definitively tightening the anchor points.

To clean the surface of the wall light, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black aluminum finish. Do not handle the lamp when it is on or recently switched off. Periodically check that there is no water accumulation inside, although the integrated drainage system is designed to prevent this.

Design and use

The KOV wall light comes in a square format with compact dimensions: 108 mm high, 80 mm long, and 87 mm deep. Despite its contained size, it offers a clear visual presence thanks to the matte black finish on an aluminum body. It is a lamp that does not try to stand out, but does not go unnoticed either.

Aluminum as a base material provides resistance to outdoor conditions without adding unnecessary weight. The complete wall light weighs 0.7 kg, which makes both transport and wall mounting easy. The light source is a COB LED type with a color temperature of 2700K, which translates into a warm tone similar to that of traditional incandescent lighting. This type of light is more pleasant in residential spaces, where the coolness of higher color temperatures can feel unwelcoming.

The 14° beam angle makes the light beam narrow and concentrated. This is especially useful when the goal is to illuminate a specific point: a house number, a facade plaque, a defined access area, or a decorative garden feature. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate large surfaces, but rather to direct light with precision.

One of the most useful features of this model is the ability to orient it in a unidirectional or bidirectional manner, and to mount it both vertically and horizontally. This flexibility allows the light focus to be adapted to the geometry of the space without needing to look for another model. On a narrow terrace, for example, horizontal orientation can help distribute the light better along the access corridor.

The integrated drainage system is a technical detail that makes a difference in outdoor installations. When rainwater or condensation reaches the inside of the wall light, this system allows it to drain out without accumulating. This reduces the risk of internal damage and helps the lamp maintain proper functioning over time.

As for the spaces where it fits well, the KOV wall light works in environments with a more contemporary or technical style. Its geometric shape and black finish make it compatible with neutral-toned facades, exposed concrete, dark cladding, or treated outdoor wood. It can also be integrated into stone walls if the overall visual composition seeks that contrast between the natural and the industrial.

In a garden, it can be used to mark a path, illuminate an entrance area, or highlight a vertical element such as a column or a partition wall. On a covered terrace, its discreet profile allows it to be installed without visually interfering with other elements in the space. The concentrated beam projects clean light that does not scatter or disturb those in the area.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. This model supports both vertical and horizontal orientation, and can provide unidirectional or bidirectional lighting. This allows the direction of the light beam to be adapted to the specific needs of the space where it is installed.

Does the lamp include a light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased for the wall light to function once the electrical installation has been completed.

Does the wall light have a system to prevent water ingress?

Yes. The design of the KOV wall light incorporates a drainage system that prevents water from pooling inside. It is specifically designed for outdoor use, where exposure to rain and humidity is common.
