Overview

FLOW is an outdoor wall light designed to illuminate gardens, terraces, and facades. It is fixed directly to the wall and offers decorative lighting that defines the space without overwhelming the surroundings. The design is the work of Alegre Design, and what stands out most is the way the lamp body connects with the spotlight: a fluid transition that turns the wall light into a visible element even during the day.

The FARO FLOW lamp is designed for those who want their garden or terrace to have its own presence when night falls. It is not just a light source, but a visual reference point within the outdoor space. FARO is a brand with decades of experience in lighting, and its outdoor products combine durable materials with shapes that do not go unnoticed.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, you need a recessed box or a solid surface to fix the base. Being an outdoor luminaire, it is advisable to check that the installation point is protected from direct moisture or that the wiring itself has adequate protection. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is recommended to hire an electrician. The lamp does not include a bulb, so before installing, make sure you have a compatible GU10 LED bulb on hand.

The aluminum and PC surface of the wall light can be cleaned with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. Avoid the use of solvents or chlorine-based cleaners, as they can damage the matte black finish. Do not handle the lamp while it is on or connected to the power supply. To access and replace the bulb, always disconnect the power before doing so.

Design and use

The FLOW wall light stands out for its shape: the elongated lamp body does not simply end at one point, but connects with the spotlight in a way that appears continuous. This design solution, developed by Alegre Design for FARO, gives the luminaire its own personality. In a garden or on a terrace, that detail makes the difference between an illuminated wall and a wall with character.

The body combines aluminum and PC, two materials that complement each other well outdoors. The aluminum provides resistance and structural stability, while the PC offers lightness and a degree of flexibility against temperature changes. The matte black finish does not reflect sunlight directly, which means the lamp integrates well on both light-colored walls and dark-colored facades.

The opal PC diffuser distributes light softly and evenly. There is no direct glare or concentrated points of intensity. The light emitted by the GU10 LED bulb is filtered through the diffuser and creates a calm halo around the wall light. This is especially useful in gardens where ambient lighting is sought, rather than intense projection.

The FLOW lamp works well at entrances, patios, garden paths, and terraces with an available wall. It also fits on residential facades where the goal is to visually mark an access area or a specific corner. It does not require a motion sensor or any additional system to function: simply connect it to the existing electrical circuit and it is ready to use.

The wall light has compact dimensions, 390 mm high and 100 mm wide, making it suitable for spaces where a large luminaire is not desired. It weighs less than one kilogram, so wall mounting does not require special reinforcement on most standard surfaces.

As for combining it with other elements, the FLOW design is neutral enough to work alongside materials such as wood, stone, or ceramic. The matte black does not compete with garden vegetation or the colors of the surroundings. If several wall lights are installed on the same wall or along a path, the result is tidy and coherent without the need for complex planning.

Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V allows it to be used in different contexts without additional adapters. The GU10 LED bulb technology ensures efficient consumption and a long lifespan, although the bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

Questions and answers

Does the FLOW wall light include the GU10 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The lamp is compatible with standard GU10 LED bulbs, which can easily be found at any lighting or electrical store.

Does the aluminum body of the wall light hold up well to prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

Aluminum is a common material in outdoor luminaires precisely because of its resistance to weather conditions. The matte black finish also helps to minimize the visible effects of continuous sun exposure.

Is this wall light compatible with external motion sensor systems?

The lamp itself does not incorporate a motion sensor, but it can be integrated into a circuit that already has an external detector, provided that the system's power is compatible with the wall light's maximum 5 W.
