Overview

DORO is a wall light designed for outdoor use. It is installed directly on the facade, the entrance wall, or any exterior wall that requires stable and functional lighting. The lamp projects light on both sides, allowing a wider area to be illuminated without the need to install multiple light points. It works well at house entrances, covered terraces, outdoor corridors, or garage access areas.

The wall light features IP65 protection, meaning it is resistant to rain and dust ingress. It does not require any additional treatment or protective cover. The housing is made of aluminium with a matte white finish, and the diffuser is prismatic glass, which distributes light evenly without creating annoying glare.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the design of luminaires for indoor and outdoor use. Their products combine functionality with clean lines and durable materials.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall surface is clean, dry, and free of irregularities. It is fixed directly onto the exterior wall using the included anchors or those appropriate for the type of surface. Connect the lamp only when the electrical installation is without current. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is recommended that an electrician carries out the assembly. Make sure the wiring is protected and that the wall light is securely fastened before restoring the power.

To clean the aluminium housing, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not disassemble the wall light for cleaning, unless strictly necessary and always with the power cut off.

Design and use

The DORO wall light by FARO has a compact design that takes up little space on the wall while performing its function well. At just 48 mm high and 220 mm long, it blends unobtrusively into facades of different styles, from modern constructions to houses with more traditional finishes. The reduced weight, under one kilogram, makes installation easier and does not require special anchors on most common surfaces.

The aluminium housing provides resistance against outdoor conditions. Aluminium does not oxidise like other metals and maintains its appearance for years with minimal maintenance. The matte white finish is neutral and adapts well to both light-coloured walls and darker-coloured surfaces. It does not stand out excessively during the day, and at night the lamp performs its function without being garish.

The prismatic glass diffuser is the detail that makes the difference in light distribution. Unlike a smooth diffuser, the prismatic surface refracts the beam and spreads it more evenly on both sides of the wall light. This prevents areas with too much concentrated light and others that remain in shadow. The result is calm, even lighting without harsh contrasts, making the outdoor space look comfortable and safe.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces warm light, close to soft white. This type of light is more pleasant to the eye in outdoor nighttime settings than cool or neutral light, especially in gardens, terraces, or residential entrances. It does not create the feeling of warehouse lighting or industrial spotlights that can sometimes be uncomfortable in personal-use spaces.

The integrated SMD LED technology ensures efficient consumption. With a total power of 2x6.5 W, the lamp provides sufficient light for an entrance or a section of exterior wall without driving up electricity consumption. LED luminaires in this range typically have a long service life, reducing the need to frequently replace the light source.

The wall light works at main entrances, on side garden walls, in outdoor corridors between buildings, or next to terrace access doors. It is also a valid option for illuminating a passageway connecting the garden to the house. If there is a motion sensor in the electrical installation, the wall light can be connected to that circuit without any issue, although the sensor and detector are not part of the wall light itself. In that case, the wall light acts as a light source within the system controlled by the sensor.

The IP65 protection makes it suitable for installations exposed to sun, rain, and wind without the need for an additional cover. The wall or facade where it is installed can be in areas without a roof, and the lamp will continue to function normally. This broadens the placement options without depending on the presence of a structure to protect the wall light from the elements.
