Overview

This outdoor wall light by FARO is designed to illuminate entrances, facades, porches and outdoor areas where a classic style suits the surroundings. The combination of steel in a rust brown finish and a bubble glass diffuser gives it a warm and recognisable look, similar to old street lanterns, but with the robustness of a contemporary product.

The light fixture is mounted directly on the wall and takes up a moderate amount of space: 382 mm high, 234 mm wide and 130 mm deep. It is not bulky, but has enough presence to look good on both stone walls and plastered facades.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine functional design with durable materials, and this light is a good example of that approach.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on an exterior wall, you need an existing recessed box or electrical supply point already prepared in the wall. The fixture is mounted directly onto the vertical surface. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician, especially when working outdoors, where humidity and sun exposure require all connections to be properly protected. Before connecting, make sure to switch off the power at the electrical panel.

To clean the steel body, a slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the rust brown finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the light.

Design and use

The FARO wall light has a classic line reminiscent of traditional outdoor lanterns, but adapted to the proportions of a modern home. The steel body in a rust brown tone is not merely an aesthetic choice: this finish has an intentionally aged appearance that fits well with rustic-style exteriors, country houses, gardens with vegetation, or stone and brick facades.

The bubble glass diffuser is one of the most distinctive elements of this wall light. The rounded shape of the transparent glass disperses light gently outwards, without concentrating it at a single point. When the light is on at night, the visual effect resembles that of an old lantern: a warm glow visible from a distance that gives a welcoming feeling at the entrance to the house or the garden gate.

The light source is E27 LED, one of the most common bulb fittings on the market. This makes it easy to find the right bulb at any hardware store or lighting shop. Although the bulb is not included, compatibility with LED allows for low energy consumption without sacrificing light quality. The maximum power is 15 W, sufficient for a passageway or entrance area.

This wall light works well in various contexts. On the main facade of a detached house, placed at eye level or slightly above the door, it marks the entrance elegantly without being excessive. On a covered terrace, it can be used to provide ambient lighting for the seating area. In a garden with a porch, it complements other elements well, such as floor-mounted luminaires or similar wall lights distributed across the patio walls.

Compatibility with a motion sensor depends on the LED bulb chosen. Some LED bulb models are compatible with external or built-in sensors. If you want to add a motion sensor function to activate the light automatically, you need to verify that the selected bulb supports it, or use an external motion sensor installed in the circuit.

In terms of dimensions, the wall light does not take up too much space on the wall, making it suitable for narrow walls or entrances with little margin. The weight of 1.445 kg is manageable for most standard vertical surfaces.

The rust brown finish withstands direct sun exposure over time, and steel as a base material offers good resistance under normal outdoor conditions. The light is designed for permanent wall installation, not for temporary setups.

If visual consistency on the exterior of the home is a priority, this wall light pairs well with wrought iron elements, dark wood, natural stone and other textured materials. It can also serve as a focal point on a garden wall or at the entrance to a terrace, especially if there are plants or vegetation nearby that reinforce the organic and warm style of the overall setting.

Questions and answers

Does the wall light include the E27 LED bulb, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light does not include a light source. You need to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 LED fitting of up to 15 W maximum power.

Is it possible to install a motion sensor with this outdoor wall light?

The wall light itself does not incorporate a motion sensor. However, an external detector can be added to the electrical circuit, or you can choose an LED bulb compatible with a sensor, always verifying compatibility before purchase.

Does the steel body with a rust brown finish hold up well against continuous exposure to sun and rain?

The rust brown finish is designed for outdoor use and tolerates normal sun exposure. To prolong its appearance, it is recommended to clean it periodically with a dry cloth and avoid the build-up of dirt or moisture at the joints.
