Overview

SCREEN is a technical lighting collection designed for outdoor use. This wall-mounted lamp fits well in gardens, patios, residential entrances, and parks where stable, long-lasting light is needed. The design is clean and functional: no unnecessary ornamentation, no elements that draw too much attention to themselves. What matters here is how it illuminates and how long it lasts.

The lantern is made of aluminum with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser. Thanks to the IP65 protection rating, it withstands direct rain and the ingress of dust or solid particles. It also features IK10 impact resistance, making it suitable for high-traffic areas or spaces with greater exposure. The included LED light source operates at 2700K, a warm color temperature that provides a close and non-aggressive tone for the surroundings.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in luminaire design for residential and contract use. Their products combine technical criteria with attention to finish, and are present in both domestic projects and public spaces or common areas.

Installation and specifications

For installation, this lantern requires connection to a fixed electrical supply of 220V–240V. As a wall-mounted fixture, it must be anchored to a solid vertical surface: brick wall, concrete, or similar. It is recommended that the wiring be embedded or protected before fixing the lamp. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to consult an electrician. The pole or support is not included if an elevated installation is chosen.

For maintenance, simply clean the outer surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminum finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check the sealing and the condition of the anchors, especially after periods of heavy rain or sudden temperature changes.

Design and use

The SCREEN lamp by FARO is designed to perform well under real outdoor use conditions. It is not an indoor decorative lamp adapted for outdoor use, but a luminaire designed from the outset to withstand the elements. The aluminum body provides solidity without adding too much weight, and the transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through effectively without sacrificing mechanical resistance.

The dark grey finish integrates the lamp well into facades of different colors. It does not stand out excessively during the day, and at night the lantern fulfills its function without creating harsh contrasts. This is a detail that matters when you want to maintain a degree of visual coherence in the garden or at the entrance of a home.

The 360º option of this collection distributes light symmetrically in all directions. It is useful when you need to illuminate an open area without shadow zones: an access patio, a section of garden path, or a space around a terrace. The wide variant, on the other hand, is designed to project light over a greater distance. This is practical in larger areas where a narrow angle would not adequately cover the ground or the sides.

The 2700K color temperature produces warm light. In nighttime outdoor settings, this tone creates a calm atmosphere and does not generate the cold sensation associated with neutral white light. It is suitable for residential gardens, terraces with a seating area, or entrances where you want the light to accompany without being intrusive.

The lantern operates with COB LED technology, which concentrates multiple light points on a single surface. This allows for a more uniform distribution and stable performance over time. The light source is included, so there is no need to source replacements for initial setup. The 14W power output is sufficient to cover the typical usage area of this type of luminaire.

The CASAMBI version of this lamp allows it to be connected to a Bluetooth lighting control system. This means it is possible to regulate its operation from an application without the need for additional control wiring. It is an interesting option for those planning an installation with multiple lights in a garden or outdoor areas, as it makes it easy to manage everything from a single point.

In terms of integration with the surroundings, this lantern pairs well with other elements of the SCREEN collection or with other technical-line luminaires. It also works in combination with ground-level bollards or with a medium-height post, if you want to complete the lighting of a path or access area. The neutral design ensures it does not visually compete with more decorative elements of the garden or terrace.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the lamp has IP65 protection and for what situations is it relevant?

IP65 indicates that the lamp is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor installation without the need for additional shelter, even in areas exposed to direct rain.

What is the difference between the 360º option and the wide variant of the SCREEN collection?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions, which is useful in open spaces with no preferred orientation. The wide variant projects light over a greater distance, covering larger surfaces such as long pathways or extensive garden areas.

Does the CASAMBI version require special installation or additional hardware?

The CASAMBI version operates via Bluetooth technology and is managed through the corresponding application. It does not require additional control wiring, although it does need a fixed electrical connection like any other variant of this lamp.
