Overview

The RUSH collection by FARO is a line of technical lighting designed for outdoor use. This wall-mounted fixture attaches directly to a wall and distributes light into the surrounding area: gardens, parks, entrances, or any open-air space where functional and durable lighting is needed.

The lamp combines aluminum and polycarbonate, two materials that hold up well in outdoor conditions. It has IP65 certification, meaning it is not affected by rain or dust. The IK10 impact resistance rating is the highest available for this type of product, so the lantern maintains its integrity even in high-traffic areas or where there is a risk of impact.

FARO is a company with decades of experience in lighting. It designs and manufactures luminaires for professional and domestic use, with special attention to technical performance and the durability of its products.

Installation and specifications

Installing this lantern requires a solid vertical surface: brick wall, concrete, or similar. The mounting is direct onto the wall, with no additional structures. Before starting, check that the area has an electrical outlet or prepared wiring. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. Make sure the power is off throughout the entire installation process.

The lamp requires no special maintenance. To clean the surface, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. Do not disassemble it while connected to the mains. Inspect it periodically to check that the anchors remain secure and that there is no accumulated moisture at the mounting base.

Design and use

The RUSH lantern in its wall-mounted version is built with an aluminum body combined with polycarbonate. The aluminum provides structural strength and dissipates the heat generated by the LED effectively. The polycarbonate, both in the body and in the transparent diffuser, withstands prolonged exposure to sunlight, rain, and temperature changes without visibly deteriorating.

The dark grey finish of the body integrates well with facades in neutral tones, stone walls, or concrete surfaces. It is not an element designed to stand out on its own, but rather one that complements the environment without drawing unnecessary attention.

The light source is a 14W COB LED with a color temperature of 3000K. This temperature creates a warm light that is neither cold nor harsh. In a garden or patio, this type of light tone generates a calm atmosphere during nighttime hours. On a terrace, it allows the space to be seen clearly without the light being intrusive.

The 360-degree version allows for symmetrical distribution around the lantern, which is useful when the post or wall from which it is installed is at the center of a space or at a corner where more than one direction needs to be covered. The wide variant disperses light over a greater distance, ideal for illuminating a long access path, a garden walkway, or the perimeter of an outdoor floor.

The Casambi version allows this lantern to be connected to a wireless control system. This makes it possible to manage switching on, switching off, and brightness levels from an app, without the need to install additional wiring for home automation. It is a practical option if you already have other compatible devices or if you want to prepare the installation for more flexible management in the future.

The IP65 protection rating ensures that neither projected water nor solid objects affect the internal operation of the lamp. The IK10 impact resistance level adds a layer of mechanical protection that few outdoor luminaires of this size offer. These features make the lantern suitable not only for private gardens but also for semi-public areas, such as the entrance to a building or a transit space with complementary marker lights.

The unit's dimensions are compact: 250mm in height and 160mm in length and depth. It does not take up much space on the wall and its weight is minimal, which simplifies installation even on surfaces where heavy anchors are not viable. The lamp comes with the light source included, so nothing additional needs to be purchased to put the installation into operation.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between the 360º option and the wide variant in this lamp?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions, which is useful at corners or in central positions. The wide variant projects light over a greater distance, suitable for illuminating long paths or large areas from a single point.

Does the RUSH lantern include compatibility with home automation control systems?

Yes, in its Casambi version it can connect to a wireless control system to manage switching on, switching off, and brightness levels from an app, without additional wiring for automation.

Is IP65 protection sufficient for installations exposed to direct rain?

Yes. IP65 protects against water projected from any direction, which comfortably covers exposure to rain outdoors. In addition, the IK10 level protects against physical impacts, making the unit suitable for areas of intensive use.
