Overview

The FARO NARA S lamp is an outdoor pendant designed for those who want to properly illuminate an outdoor space without sacrificing style. Its shade has a cage shape, which gives it a distinctive character — neither too modern nor too old-fashioned — that fits well on a contemporary terrace as well as in a garden with a more classic or rustic touch.

It is installed fixed to the ceiling, without tensioners or loose cables. This makes it more stable than other outdoor pendants, especially in windy or unfavorable conditions. The direct ceiling mounting simplifies installation and provides greater long-term security.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine careful design with materials built to last, both indoors and outdoors.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this pendant, check that the ceiling anchor point is solid and designed to support the weight of the fixture. Since this is an outdoor lamp with fixed ceiling mounting, it is recommended that the wiring be protected from the interior to the exit point. If you have any doubts about the electrical routing, consult an electrician before starting. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so have it on hand before beginning assembly.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the stainless steel structure with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the beige finish. The opal diffuser can also be cleaned in the same way, taking care not to apply excessive pressure. Although the material is designed for outdoor use, it is advisable to check the overall condition of the piece at the beginning and end of each season.

Design and use

The NARA S has a diameter of 460 mm and a height of 454 mm. It is a generously sized pendant, designed for spaces where the lighting needs to cover a wide area. It is not discreet, but it is not overdone either: the cage shape reveals the interior and allows light to spread to the sides, not just downward.

The body is made of stainless steel with a beige finish, which gives it a certain visual lightness. The color is neither pure white nor brown: it is an intermediate tone that integrates well with wood, concrete, stone, or ceramic surfaces. This makes it compatible with different types of outdoor environments, from a more urban patio to a porch with natural materials.

The diffuser is made of PEMD with an opal finish. This material softens the light and prevents direct glare, which is important when the lamp is at eye level for seated people. The light it produces is uniform and free of harsh shadow zones, which helps create a pleasant atmosphere for both outdoor dinners and relaxing moments in the garden.

One of the features that sets this lamp apart from other outdoor pendants is its mounting system. By fixing directly to the ceiling without the need for tensioners, the unit is more compact and stable. In spaces such as a pergola, a covered porch, or a gallery, where wind can move suspended lamps, this type of mounting makes a real difference. The structure does not swing, does not make noise, and does not lose alignment over time.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs up to 12W makes it easy to find a suitable light source. With a warm-temperature bulb, the atmosphere created is cozy, ideal for terraces where people want to spend time at night. With a more neutral light bulb, the fixture works better in transitional spaces or areas where clear visibility is needed.

In terms of style, the NARA S has a shape reminiscent of traditional lantern lights, but with a cleaner and more contemporary execution. This makes it suitable for projects looking for a modern feel as well as for settings where something is needed that does not clash with what already exists. A country house with a wooden porch, an urban patio with concrete paving, or a balcony with an iron railing: in all these contexts, the lamp finds its place effortlessly.

Questions and answers

Can this pendant lamp be installed without tensioners or additional support cables?

Yes. The NARA S is designed to be fixed directly to the ceiling in a fixed manner, without the need for tensioners. This mounting system makes it more stable than other outdoor pendants, especially in areas exposed to wind.

Does the stainless steel body with beige finish hold up well in outdoor conditions?

Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant material, suitable for outdoor use. The beige finish is applied over that base, giving it durability. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it periodically with a damp cloth.

What type of bulb does this lamp require and is it included?

The NARA S uses an E27 LED base bulb with a maximum power of 12W. The bulb is not included with the product, so it must be purchased separately before installation.
