Overview

MUFFIN is an outdoor pendant lamp designed for open spaces where functional and durable lighting is needed. It is installed on the ceiling and hangs cleanly, without distracting elements. It is a good option for those who want to light a terrace, a porch, or a garden without the lamp drawing more attention than the space itself.

The body is made of aluminum with a dark gray finish, and the diffuser is made of opal polycarbonate. These materials are designed to withstand outdoor use: aluminum does not deform with temperature changes, and the diffuser distributes light evenly without creating bright spots or harsh shadows.

FARO is a brand with years of experience in lighting. Their products are manufactured with attention to detail and are designed to last, both indoors and outdoors.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, make sure the ceiling is capable of supporting the weight of the assembly. The anchor point must be secure, as this is a pendant luminaire that hangs directly from above. Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. Please note that the E27 bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To clean the aluminum body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark gray finish. The opal diffuser is cleaned in the same way. As this is an outdoor lamp, periodically check that the joints and cable are in good condition, especially after periods of heavy rain or extreme cold.

Design and use

MUFFIN is a contemporary-style pendant lamp that fits well in outdoor spaces where design matters as much as functionality. Its compact shape, 220 mm on each side, does not take up too much visual space, but is sufficient to project light downward effectively. The total height of 1550 mm allows it to hang at a comfortable distance from the ceiling without being an obstacle when passing by.

The aluminum body in dark gray gives it a discreet and modern appearance. It is not a rustic old-style lamp, nor an ornate lantern. It is a luminaire with clean lines that integrates effortlessly into facades, porticos, and outdoor living areas. The dark gray color has the advantage of not showing dirt easily and combining well with materials such as wood, concrete, or stone.

The PMMA opal diffuser is one of the most important elements of this lamp. Thanks to it, the light does not concentrate in a single point, but is distributed softly throughout the surroundings. This is especially useful on a porch or terrace where a pleasant atmosphere is sought at night, without the light source being uncomfortable to look at. Direct lights without a diffuser can cause glare outdoors, something that the opal finish effectively prevents.

This pendant lamp works with an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W. LED technology consumes less energy and has a longer lifespan than conventional bulbs, which reduces long-term maintenance. The voltage compatible with 100V–240V makes it suitable for installations in different countries without the need for adapters.

As for the spaces where it makes the most sense to install it: a garden with an outdoor seating area, a covered terrace, an entrance porch, or even a well-roofed pergola. In all these cases, the lamp fulfills its function without being intrusive. It can also work in an outdoor gallery or a large balcony with a ceiling where a fixed lighting point is desired.

The weight of 1.67 kg is manageable and does not require special reinforcements in the ceiling, although it is always important to verify that the anchor is secure. The lamp hangs from the ceiling by cable, which allows the height to be adjusted if necessary during installation.

In terms of style, MUFFIN moves away from industrial-looking lights or more rustic solutions. It is an outdoor lamp with a contemporary profile that does not need to draw attention to fulfill its role. Modern in concept and discreet in form, these lamps are a good choice for those who renovate outdoor spaces with criteria and without complications. If the patio, garden, or porch already has a defined style, MUFFIN adapts without breaking the coherence of the overall space.

Questions and answers

Does the MUFFIN lamp include the E27 bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. An E27 LED bulb must be purchased separately, with a maximum power of 15 W.

Does the PMMA opal diffuser hold up well to outdoor conditions such as rain or direct sunlight?

PMMA is a material designed for outdoor use. It withstands exposure to the elements better than conventional glass and does not break easily. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it periodically with a soft cloth.

Is it possible to adjust the length of the cable so that the lamp hangs closer to the ceiling?

During installation, the cable length can be adjusted according to the available height in the space. It is recommended that this be done by a qualified installer to ensure that the excess cable is safely stored.
