Installation and specifications

No special tools are needed to install this spike. The lower part is inserted directly into the ground, in soft soil or fine gravel. Make sure the cable is well protected from the connection point to the spike, preferably underground or with a suitable outdoor conduit. The connection must be carried out by an electrician or someone with basic knowledge of electrical installations, as it involves mains voltage.

The aluminium body requires no special maintenance. Simply clean it occasionally with a damp cloth, without abrasive products. The diffuser glass can be cleaned with water and a little neutral soap. Avoid directing pressurized water jets directly at the luminaire. Do not handle the light source while the spike is connected to the mains.

Design and use

The SLOT 500 spike stands nearly 70 centimetres tall, placing it at the level of low shrubs, path edging or medium-sized plant pots. From that position, the spotlight projects light upward at an angle that envelops the vegetation or illuminated object without creating harsh shadows. The result is a clean visual effect, similar to that of professional bollard lighting, but adapted for domestic use.

The black aluminium body is discreet during the day. It does not draw attention or disrupt the aesthetic of the garden or patio. When night falls, the lamp takes center stage without being aggressive. The warm 3000K light creates a calm atmosphere, far from the bluish tone found in many cheaper outdoor lights. The COB LED light source is included with the product. It does not need to be purchased separately. The luminaire arrives ready to install and connect directly to the mains.

How tall is the spike and at what height does the light point sit above the ground?

The total height of the spike is 692 mm, that is, nearly 70 centimetres. The part driven into the ground slightly reduces the visible height, but the spotlight sits approximately at the height of low shrubs or path edging, making it easy to illuminate plants and decorative objects from below.

What type of ground does this luminaire's fixing support?

The spike is fixed directly into the ground, so it requires soft soil, such as garden soil, lawn or loose gravel. It is not designed to be installed on hard surfaces such as concrete or paving, where an alternative fixing system not included with the product would be required.
