SAIGON is an outdoor beacon from the Nahtrang collection, designed to illuminate gardens, terraces and patios with a clean aesthetic free of unnecessary ornamentation. The stake is driven directly into the ground and marks a path, the edge of a garden or the perimeter of a terrace with a soft, enveloping light. The ochre rope shade filters the light so that the lantern does not dazzle, but instead creates a warm atmosphere as night falls.

The SAIGON collection stands out for its pure forms and the contrast between the dark grey aluminium body and the ochre-toned woven shade. It is a luminaire that fits well in natural settings, alongside plants, gravel or wood, but also works in more contemporary outdoor spaces.

Installation and specifications

No special tools are needed to install this beacon. The stake is inserted into the ground with manual pressure or with the help of a rubber mallet. It is advisable to choose a spot away from areas where digging or frequent work will take place. The connection cable must be laid underground or protected up to the electrical supply point. The connection must be carried out by an authorised electrician, especially if the installation involves opening trenches or working near other installations.

The polyester rope shade can be cleaned with a damp cloth and water without abrasive products. The aluminium body can be periodically cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Strong detergents or products containing chlorine are not recommended. If the stake remains outdoors during winter, it is advisable to check the condition of the connection at the start of the usage season.

Design and use

The SAIGON beacon has a height of 1370 mm, which makes it visible without dominating the space. It is not a spotlight that illuminates from above nor a projector aimed at a specific point, but rather a mid-height light presence that organises the garden at night without making it appear artificially lit. That scale makes it work well alongside paths, delimiting patio areas or marking access points.

The body is made of aluminium with a dark grey finish. This material withstands outdoor conditions well and requires no special maintenance. The dark tone of the body means the stake does not stand out during the day, and when switched on, it is the light that takes centre stage rather than the structure. This is a balance that becomes noticeable when placed in a garden with vegetation or alongside wooden or stone elements.

The shade is made with UV-resistant polyester rope. The woven pattern filters the light and produces a warm visual effect, where the light does not emerge in a direct beam but diffuses through the fabric. The opal finish of the inner diffuser reinforces that dispersion. The result is that the lantern emits a uniform glow around itself, without creating harsh shadow zones or excessively bright light points.

The ochre colour of the shade adds a warm note to the whole. When switched on, the light passing through the rope takes on a slightly golden tone that contrasts well with the darkness of the garden. On terraces with rattan or natural wood furniture, this effect is particularly coherent. It also works in more neutral settings, where the ochre adds texture without disrupting the harmony of the space.

The compatible light source is E27 LED, with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included, allowing you to choose the colour temperature that best suits the environment. For a garden with plants and natural materials, a warm-toned bulb usually gives better results. The beacon accepts voltages between 100 V and 240 V, so there are no usage restrictions based on the home's electrical installation.

Outdoors, beacons like the SAIGON are usually placed in groups. Two or three units along a path, or one on each side of an entrance, are common configurations. It also combines well with other garden lighting elements such as recessed ground lights or hanging lanterns on a pergola. The stake height and 680 mm diameter allow it to integrate without creating a sense of overcrowding.

It is a luminaire designed to remain in place throughout the year, working as a discreet part of the garden by day and as a warm light point by night.

Questions and answers

Does the polyester rope shade resist direct sunlight without fading over time?

The rope is manufactured with UV resistance, which slows down the deterioration caused by prolonged sun exposure. Over the years there may be a slight colour variation, as happens with any textile material outdoors, but the UV resistance considerably extends the useful life of the shade.

Can the stake be installed in hard ground or gravel, or does it only work in soft soil?

The stake is designed to be driven into soil. In compact or gravelly ground, a little more effort may be needed during installation, but no special tools are required. On paved or concrete surfaces it cannot be installed without an alternative base.

Is the included E27 LED bulb compatible with dimmer switches?

The beacon does not include a bulb. Compatibility with dimmers depends on the E27 LED bulb chosen. It is advisable to check on the bulb's packaging whether it supports dimming before connecting it to a circuit with a dimmer.
