CUCA 1193 is an outdoor stake designed for gardens, terraces and patios where lighting is part of the very design of the space. Its black stainless steel structure follows a semicircular arch geometry that supports a small opaline glass sphere. The visual result is striking: at nightfall, the ball of light appears to float in the air while the structure blends into the darkness.

The lamp is not intended to be an aggressive spotlight or a conventional lantern. Its purpose is different: to create a subtle scenic effect, as if the lights were suspended in the garden with no visible support. For more elaborate compositions, it is available in two different heights, allowing several units to be combined and generating a space with different planes of light.

Installation and specifications

This luminaire operates at 24 V DC, so installation requires an external transformer compatible with that voltage. Before fitting it, it is advisable to plan the cable routing through the ground so that it remains hidden. The stake is anchored directly into the ground, with no need for an additional structure. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a professional, especially if it involves digging trenches or connecting to existing outdoor lighting systems.

The black-finish stainless steel withstands typical outdoor conditions well. To maintain the appearance of the body, occasional cleaning with a damp cloth and avoidance of abrasive products is sufficient. The opaline glass diffuser may accumulate dust or water droplets over time; it can be easily cleaned with a soft cloth. It is not necessary to remove the luminaire in winter if conditions are not extreme, although it is advisable to check the connections at the start of each season.

Design and use

CUCA 1193 is one of those pieces that changes the character of a garden or a terrace without the need for major interventions. It is not a high-power projector or a classic-style lantern. It is a design bollard that works with light in a delicate way, creating presence without being intrusive.

The structure is made of stainless steel, a material that combines strength with a very slim visual profile. The arch shape raises and displaces the glass sphere to one side, moving it away from the ground and the central axis of the stake. This displacement is what produces the most characteristic visual effect of this luminaire: as night falls, the point of light appears to float in space, as if it had no support. Conventional outdoor bollards and lights cannot achieve this kind of illusion.

The diffuser is a small glass ball with an opaline finish that distributes light softly and evenly in all directions. There is no direct glare or areas of strong contrast. The colour temperature of 2700 K produces a warm light, close to that of traditional incandescent bulbs, which is conducive to relaxed and restful atmospheres.

In a garden, these bollards work very well aligned along a path or distributed among plants and shrubs. The discreet presence of each lantern makes the ensemble feel like part of the landscape, not a technical addition. On a terrace or patio, they can be placed near walls or at the edges of the seating area to define the space with light without the need to install a projector or a ceiling lamp.

The possibility of combining two different heights greatly expands the composition options. Alternating tall and short units creates visual rhythms that add depth to the outdoor space. This is a particularly useful resource in medium or large gardens, where a row of identical bollards might appear too uniform. It also works well on a pergola or along the edges of a terrace area with greater longitudinal extent.

The working voltage of 24 V DC is common in low-voltage outdoor lighting systems, which allows this luminaire to be integrated into existing installations or a new circuit to be planned together with other pieces from the same line. The included COB LED consumes 3 W, a very modest figure for the visual effect it produces.

The black colour of the body favours integration in natural settings and in gardens with dark vegetation or stone. It also pairs well with outdoor metal structures, dark-toned joinery or treated wood floors.

The light source is included. No additional lighting component needs to be purchased. The 3 W COB LED bulb with a colour temperature of 2700 K comes pre-installed from the factory.

Is it possible to combine this stake with other units of the same model to create a composition in the garden or on the terrace?

Yes, and that is precisely what it is designed for. CUCA 1193 is available in two different heights, which allows units to be alternated in the ground and compositions with different levels of light to be created. The effect of lights floating at different heights is more apparent when several pieces are combined in the same outdoor space.
