Installation and specifications

This luminaire is installed directly in the ground. Before fitting it, it is advisable to plan the cable routing and ensure that the electrical installation supports a voltage of 24V DC. As it is a low-voltage luminaire, a suitable transformer is required. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by an electrician, especially if the cabling must pass through areas with moisture or underground.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminium surface with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The black finish may accumulate dust or soil residue with outdoor use, so periodic cleaning helps to preserve its appearance. Do not use solvents or aggressive chemical products.

Design and use

The CLAP 1030 spike has a very slim profile design. Its aluminium and stainless steel body in black integrates into the ground without standing out visually during the day. When night falls, the LED spotlight projects a concentrated 38° beam of light that illuminates exactly where desired: the base of a plant, a shrub, a stone or a section of the garden path.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent lamp. This tone does not distort the natural colours of vegetation and creates a calm atmosphere, without the coldness brought by whiter light sources. It is the type of light that makes a garden or patio appear thoughtfully designed and well-tended, not merely lit.

The CLAP system is conceived as a set. The bollards, wall lights and projectors of the same family share proportions and finishes, which makes it easy to design the exterior coherently. In a garden, for example, the bollards can be used to define a path, the tree projectors to illuminate the canopy of a tree, and the CLAP 1030 spikes to accentuate specific points among the vegetation. On a terrace or patio, combining them with wall lights from the same line maintains visual continuity.

The 38° angle makes this spike an accent projector, not a general lighting source. It is not designed to illuminate large surfaces, but to highlight specific elements. This makes it useful in gardens with plants of different heights, on access paths with lateral vegetation, or in areas where visual depth is desired through light and shadow.

The anti-glare visor ref. 75714-2, compatible with this spike, reduces glare when the luminaire is in direct view. In areas of frequent passage or where the spike is at eye level, adding the visor improves comfort without changing the beam direction. It is an accessory that does not alter the aesthetics of the ensemble but does make a difference in everyday use.

The weight of 1.67 kg and the aluminium and stainless steel construction provide stability in the ground. Aluminium withstands moisture and temperature changes typical of outdoor use well. The black finish on this type of material also has good resistance to discolouration over time, although occasional cleaning helps to maintain its original appearance.

This luminaire operates at 24V DC, placing it in the low-voltage range. This means an external transformer is required, but also that the electrical risk during installation is lower than in conventional mains systems. This is a common feature in quality garden lighting, where the cabling is buried or close to the ground.

The COB LED light source is included. There is no need to purchase the lamp or bulb separately, and the luminaire arrives ready to connect once the electrical installation is complete.

Questions and answers

Does the CLAP 1030 spike require an external transformer or can it be connected directly to the mains?

It operates at 24V DC, so it requires a transformer that converts the mains voltage to that level. The transformer is not included and must be purchased separately, sized to the total wattage of the luminaires to be connected.

Is it possible to adjust the lighting angle of the spike to direct the beam towards a specific point?

The beam angle is fixed at 38°. What can be adjusted is the orientation of the spike when it is inserted into the ground, pointing the projector towards the element to be highlighted.

Does the anti-glare visor ref. 75714-2 modify the light intensity in any way?

The visor reduces visual glare without changing the colour temperature or the beam direction. Its function is to limit the direct viewing angle of the light source, which is useful in areas of passage or when the spike is at eye level.
