Overview

The FARO wall light is an outdoor luminaire designed to last. It mounts directly on the wall and provides warm, stable lighting for entryways, gardens, and terraces. Its brass body and clear glass diffuser give it a classic look that suits both stone facades and rendered walls.

This wall light is designed for spaces where environmental conditions can be demanding. Brass resists moisture and temperature changes better than many other materials. It also features IP44 protection, meaning it withstands rain and dust without losing functionality.

FARO is a European brand with experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine timeless design principles with proven quality materials. This wall light is a good example of that approach: restrained in form, solid in execution.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on an exterior wall, it is recommended to have a flush-mount box or a firm fixing surface. It is advisable to have the installation carried out by an electrician, as it requires connection to the mains. Before securing the lamp, verify that the wall is dry and that the support is solid. The wall light connects directly to the home's wiring, with no additional adapters required.

Brass requires no frequent maintenance, but it is advisable to wipe the body with a soft, slightly damp cloth when dust or dirt accumulates. Avoid abrasive products or solvents. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. In coastal areas or areas with high salinity, check the condition of the body once a year.

Design and use

This outdoor wall light combines brass and glass in a compact format with a height of 200 mm. The result is a luminaire that does not take up too much space on the wall, yet has enough presence to mark the entrance of a home or define the perimeter of a garden.

Brass is a material with character of its own. Its warm tone, which ages slightly over time, gives it an appearance that is not exactly rustic, but not industrial either. It sits at a midpoint that allows it to be combined with different architectural styles. It works well alongside natural materials such as stone or wood, and also functions on modern facades where a touch of classic contrast is desired.

The clear glass diffuser allows light to pass through without filters. This creates a visible light source that illuminates the area directly. If placed near the front door, the area is well lit without the need to add more light points. For a larger terrace, two wall lights can be placed symmetrically at either end of the wall.

The IP44 protection is an important practical detail. It means the lamp is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashes from any direction. It is not designed to be submerged, but it perfectly withstands ordinary rain and direct sun exposure during the day. In climates with cold winters or very hot summers, the brass retains its properties without visibly deteriorating.

The wall light uses an E27 socket and accepts LED bulbs of up to 15 W. The bulb is not included, so this should be taken into account when placing an order. An LED bulb with warm light, between 2700 K and 3000 K, pairs well with the tone of the brass and provides pleasant outdoor lighting without being too intense.

The weight of 1.6 kg is moderate. No special anchors are required, but it is advisable to secure it with the appropriate screws for the type of wall. In brick or concrete walls, expansion plugs are used. On lighter surfaces, it is advisable to consult a professional.

This type of wall luminaire works well at the entrances of single-family homes, at the gates of estates with gardens, on terrace or patio walls, and in outdoor areas with little direct sun exposure over many hours. It can also be installed in covered areas, such as porches or pergolas, where rain does not reach directly but humidity is present.

The timeless design of the wall light means it will not look dated over time. It does not follow any particular trend, which means it will continue to fit well even if the rest of the space changes over the years.
