Overview

The FARO LED wall light is a lamp designed for outdoor use: garden, terrace, façade, or any uncovered space that needs functional lighting while also serving as a visually prominent light source. The housing is made of aluminium with a dark grey finish, a colour that effortlessly integrates into walls of different styles. The diffuser is made of translucent opal glass, which distributes light gently upward and downward.

This wall light projects light in two directions, creating a decorative effect on the wall while also illuminating the surrounding area. It is a compact solution: 200 mm long, 120 mm high, and 80 mm deep. It mounts directly to the wall without the need for additional structures.

FARO is a Spanish brand specialising in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine contemporary design with materials built to last. This wall light is part of their outdoor range, where a product's performance under environmental conditions is just as important as the visual result.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a recessed wall box or a cable outlet point is required on the surface where the wall light will be mounted. As this is an outdoor luminaire, it is advisable to protect the wiring from the outlet point to the connection. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in areas exposed to rain or humidity. The universal voltage of 100 V to 240 V allows it to be connected to the standard domestic supply without adapters.

To keep the wall light in good condition, simply clean the aluminium surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. The glass diffuser may accumulate dust or outdoor dirt over time; it can be cleaned in the same way, avoiding abrasive products that could scratch the surface. Do not use the lamp if damage to the cable or housing is detected.

Design and use

The body of this wall light is made of aluminium, a material that offers good resistance to continuous outdoor use without adding unnecessary weight. The dark grey finish gives it a neutral appearance that suits both modern façades and stone or exposed brick walls. It does not draw excessive attention during the day, but at night it fulfils its function clearly.

The opal glass diffuser is one of the elements that define the visual result of this lamp. Unlike clear glass, opal softens the light and prevents the source from being too direct or glaring. The light it emits has a temperature of 3000 K, which corresponds to a warm white: not as yellow as an incandescent bulb, but warm enough to create a pleasant atmosphere on the terrace or in the garden at dusk.

The bidirectional projection, upward and downward simultaneously, is what sets this wall light apart from a conventional outdoor luminaire. Rather than illuminating only the ground or only the wall, it creates an enveloping light effect on the wall surface. This adds visual depth to the space and allows the garden or terrace to have presence even at night. A single spot on the wall can feel too harsh; this design avoids that contrast.

The included light source is SMD LED, integrated directly into the wall light. It operates on the standard electricity supply, with no need for a solar source or battery. It does not include a motion sensor or presence detector, so switching on and off depends on the switch or home automation system installed in your home.

The compact dimensions make this wall light suitable for spaces where a large luminaire is not desired. On a medium-sized terrace, one can be placed on each side of the access door. In a garden, it can be installed on the perimeter wall or on the side façade of the house. In a covered entrance or porch, it provides the necessary lighting without taking up space.

The weight of 0.68 kg makes installation on standard walls straightforward, with no need for special anchors. The depth of 80 mm means it protrudes little from the wall, also making it suitable for passageways where a more bulky lamp could be inconvenient.

Questions and answers

Does this wall light include a motion sensor or presence detector?

No. This lamp does not incorporate a motion sensor or any automatic detection system. Switching on and off is managed from the usual switch or from the home automation system if one is available.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included. No additional bulb needs to be purchased; the wall light arrives ready to connect and install.

Is the 3000 K colour temperature suitable for lighting a terrace used at night?

Yes. 3000 K corresponds to a warm white light, which is pleasant in outdoor rest or gathering spaces. It does not produce the cold effect of lights with higher colour temperatures, making the terrace atmosphere more welcoming at night.
