Overview

The POL wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be mounted directly on the wall. Its dark grey body integrates well into façades, entrances, balconies and walkways without drawing too much attention. The wide opaline diffuser distributes light evenly, with no bright spots or harsh shadows.

This lamp is designed for those looking for functional and discreet outdoor lighting. It works with an integrated SMD LED, which means there is no need to change bulbs. The light source is already included, ready to use from the very first moment.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine durable materials with careful design, conceived for real environments, not just for catalogues.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall where it will be fixed is solid and capable of supporting the weight of the product. As this is an outdoor wall lamp, the wiring must be protected from inside the wall. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician, especially if it involves cutting channels or working with the home's electrical installation. Make sure to cut the power before starting any connection work.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the lamp during cleaning.

Design and use

The POL wall light has a compact and clean design that fits effortlessly into different types of façade. The body is made of aluminium in dark grey, a material that withstands outdoor conditions well and requires no special maintenance. This neutral finish does not compete with the colours of the surroundings, whether a brick, render or stone wall.

The diffuser is made of opaline PMMA, a material that softens the LED light and spreads it evenly outward. This avoids the bright spot effect found in some outdoor lamps when the light source is directly exposed. The light projected by this wall light has a colour temperature of 3000K, which corresponds to a warm white. This tone creates a welcoming atmosphere at entrances, in the garden or in walkways, without feeling cold or clinical.

The integrated SMD LED has a power output of 8 W. This is sufficient to properly illuminate a walkway, the entrance to a home or a balcony. The light source is already included, so there is no need to purchase anything additional to start using it.

The wall light is fixed directly to the wall, which makes installation straightforward and allows it to be oriented exactly where the light is needed. Its dimensions are compact: 220 mm high, 140 mm in length and 120 mm in depth. It does not take up too much space and does not look bulky on smaller façades.

It is a lamp designed for outdoor use, so it withstands the typical conditions of outdoor use. The aluminium body resists deterioration over time. The PMMA diffuser is also prepared to withstand exposure to the environment without losing its properties over time.

As for the locations where it can be installed, the POL wall light fits well at the main entrance of a house, on either side of the door or above it. It also works in outdoor corridors, at garage entrances, on enclosed or semi-covered terraces, and on balconies where fixed wall lighting is desired. In the garden it can be used to mark paths or illuminate steps. It does not require any motion sensor or additional detector to function, although it can be combined with one if the installation allows.

The dark grey colour of the body makes it compatible with modern finishes, but also with more sober or industrial styles. It can be installed in pairs on either side of a door to achieve more balanced lighting. It also combines well with other outdoor luminaires from the same range, whether on a façade, wall or fence.

The 3000K colour temperature does not tire the eyes and creates a sense of warmth in the space. This makes it particularly useful at residential entrances where a pleasant atmosphere is desired upon arriving home at night, without the harshness of a cold white light.

Questions and answers

Does the opaline diffuser of the POL wall light reduce direct LED glare?

Yes. The opaline PMMA diffuser completely covers the light source and distributes the light evenly, preventing the LED point from being directly exposed to view.

Is the lamp compatible with mains voltages other than 230V?

Yes. The POL wall light operates within a voltage range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with different electrical installations without the need for adapters.

Can the included LED be replaced if it fails?

The light source is of the integrated SMD LED type. As it is incorporated into the body of the wall light, it is not designed to be replaced independently by the user.
