Overview

The PILL wall light by FARO is a wall luminaire designed for outdoor use. Its semicircular shape and rust brown finish give it a sober and discreet character that fits well on both modern façades and more rustic settings. It is designed to illuminate gardens, terraces and balconies with warm, uniform light thanks to its integrated LED technology.

One of the most useful features of this wall light is the ability to orient it upward or downward depending on your needs. If you want to highlight a wall or a specific area of the garden, you orient it upward. If you prefer to illuminate the ground or an entrance, you flip it. This flexibility allows you to adapt the lamp to different situations without changing the product.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products are designed to last and maintain a good appearance over time, even under demanding conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall surface is clean, dry and level. As this is a wall-mounted outdoor luminaire, it is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Check that the existing wiring is compatible with the indicated voltage (100V–240V) before connecting the lamp. If you are installing it in an area exposed to rain or humidity, properly seal the cable entry points in the wall to prevent water ingress.

The aluminium body requires no special maintenance, but it is advisable to clean the wall light periodically with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove accumulated dust and dirt. Avoid the use of abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The opal glass diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not handle the luminaire when it is switched on or connected to the mains.

Design and use

The PILL wall light has a compact construction that makes it particularly suitable for spaces where an exaggerated visual presence is not desired. Its aluminium body with a rust brown finish gives it a solid and discreet appearance. This earthy tone integrates well with stone, wood, concrete or exposed brick, making it a natural option for façades with natural materials or for gardens where a coherent aesthetic is to be maintained.

The opal glass diffuser is one of the elements that most influences the quality of the light. Unlike other diffusers, the opal distributes brightness in a soft manner, without creating bright spots or harsh shadows. The result is a light that covers the area well without straining the eyes. This makes it particularly useful on terraces used at night, or at entrances where the lighting needs to be functional but not aggressive.

The integrated COB LED light source emits at 3000K, a warm colour temperature that is reminiscent of traditional incandescent light. This type of light favours relaxed atmospheres and is perceived as more welcoming than cool light. It is a good choice for illuminating a terrace where dinner is served, a garden where you want to create ambiance at night, or an entrance that welcomes visitors with a pleasant light.

The wall light can be mounted with the light oriented upward or downward. This option is not only aesthetic: it also changes the distribution of light over the surface. Facing upward, the luminaire acts as an accent spotlight that highlights the wall or nearby vegetation. Facing downward, it concentrates the light on the ground or the lower part of the façade, which is useful for marking paths or steps in a garden or terrace.

With only 3.5 W of power, the wall light has very low consumption. LED technology ensures a long service life without the need to replace the bulb, as the light source is included and is part of the design. The universal voltage (100V–240V) makes it compatible with electrical installations in different countries, which simplifies purchasing if it is to be used outside Spain.

Its compact dimensions — 100 mm long, 85 mm high and only 30 mm deep — make this wall light a discreet option that takes up minimal visual space. It is a luminaire with a minimal presence but a real effect. It can be installed on small balconies where available space is limited, without the lamp appearing disproportionate.

The motion sensor is not part of the design of this luminaire, so if you are looking for a solution with a presence detector or solar activation, this wall light does not cover that function. However, if what you need is a fixed and constant light for your garden, terrace or exterior wall, the PILL offers exactly that: stable, well-distributed lighting with a finish that does not look out of place.

Questions and answers

Is it possible to install the PILL wall light with the light facing both upward and downward?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be oriented in both directions according to lighting needs. If installed with the opening facing upward, the light is projected onto the wall or the upper area. If placed with the opening facing downward, it illuminates the ground or the lower part of the façade.

Is the LED light source included with the wall light or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included and forms part of the wall light itself. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb or carry out any extra installation of the light source.

Does the aluminium body of the wall light require any special treatment to maintain the rust brown finish?

No special treatments are required. Simply clean the surface from time to time with a soft, damp cloth to keep the finish in good condition. It is advisable to avoid abrasive or chemical products that could alter the colour or texture of the aluminium.
