Overview

MASK is an outdoor wall light designed to be mounted on a wall. Its square body and dark grey finish give it a clean, tidy appearance, free of decorative elements that might distract. It is a lamp designed for outdoor spaces that need functional, long-lasting light: house entrances, facades, covered terraces, or side access points.

The aluminium used to make this wall light is not just an aesthetic choice. It is a material that withstands moisture, sudden temperature changes, and constant exposure to wind or rain. The lamp can also be installed in areas close to the sea, where the salt content in the air tends to quickly deteriorate metal finishes.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine demanding technical criteria with a design that fits well in different types of housing, from modern constructions to more traditional homes.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is advisable to prepare the surface before starting. If the wall is made of brick or stone, it is recommended to use expansion plugs suitable for the weight of the assembly. The wiring must reach the mounting point before fixing the luminaire. It is advisable to have the installation carried out by a qualified electrician, especially outdoors where moisture can affect the connections.

The aluminium body does not require special products for maintenance. Simply clean the surface from time to time with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or dirt. The opal glass diffuser can be cleaned with water and a little neutral soap. Avoid using abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish.

Design and use

The MASK wall light has a square shape that integrates effortlessly into smooth facades, concrete walls, or stone cladding. It does not seek to draw attention, but rather to function well and last a long time in the place where it is installed. The lamp projects a warm 3000K light through the opal glass diffuser, which softens the emission point and prevents direct glare. At a garden entrance or at the access to a home, that type of light creates a calm atmosphere without leaving areas in darkness.

The body material is aluminium treated with specific surface protections for outdoor use. This wall light is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to sun and moisture. In coastal areas, where salt-laden air can quickly deteriorate untreated materials, the lamp maintains its finish without rust or visible corrosion appearing.

The LED light source is already included. There is no need to purchase a bulb separately or worry about compatibility. The 15W consumption is moderate for an outdoor wall light, making it suitable for leaving on for hours without high energy expenditure. The colour temperature of 3000K produces a slightly warm white light, more similar to candlelight than the cold light of an office.

On an uncovered terrace, a wall light like this can be placed on the side wall to direct light towards the ground or towards the passage area. In gardens with enclosure walls, the lamp works well in symmetrical installations, placing two units at the same height on both sides of a door or access point. Its compact profile, with a depth of just 100 mm, does not take up too much space and does not protrude excessively from the wall.

Although it does not incorporate a motion sensor, the lamp can be connected to an external sensor or an independent detector if that functionality is desired. In this way, the wall light only activates when it detects movement in the area, which reduces consumption and increases the sense of security. It can also be integrated into a circuit with a timer or with a dusk switch that turns it on automatically at sunset.

The dark grey colour of the body combines well with neutral surfaces: white or grey walls, dark wood cladding, natural stone facades. It does not stand out excessively during the day and integrates naturally into the overall setting. At night, the light emitted by the fixture directs attention without making the wall light the central element of the scene.

Questions and answers

Does the MASK wall light include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the integrated LED light source. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb. The fixture comes ready to connect and install.

Can this wall light be installed in a home by the sea where there is constant exposure to salt?

Yes. The aluminium body has surface protection treatments specifically designed for coastal environments. The lamp is designed to withstand adverse weather conditions, including the presence of salt in the air, without the finish deteriorating over time.

Does the 15-year anti-corrosion warranty cover only the luminaire body or other components as well?

The 15-year warranty covers the luminaire enclosure, that is, the aluminium body. This warranty is included with the MASK wall light and is part of the conditions offered by the manufacturer for this model.
