Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It is installed on any vertical surface — a façade, a wall next to an entrance, a terrace or a garden — and provides light directed in a controlled manner. The body is round, made of aluminium with a white finish, with a clean technical design that adapts well to both modern environments and more understated spaces.

What sets this wall light apart is the ability to choose between two emission angles: 34° or 14°. This allows the light aperture to be adjusted according to the space where it is installed. In addition, it can be mounted with the lamp facing upward or downward, providing flexibility for different visual effects outdoors. The internal drainage system prevents water from being retained inside the body, which is important for a luminaire that will be exposed to the elements.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long history in lighting. Its products combine technical functionality with aesthetic judgment, and are aimed at both residential use and more demanding projects.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This wall light is fixed directly to the wall by surface anchoring. Before installation, check that the wall can support the weight of the assembly and that the electrical connection point is available in the mounting area. The lamp can be oriented upward or downward, so it is advisable to decide the direction before fixing it definitively. The emission angle — 34° or 14° — must also be chosen beforehand, as it determines the visual result once the luminaire is installed. For work involving electrical installation, consult a qualified professional.

Use and maintenance. Clean the surface of the wall light with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white aluminium finish. Do not handle the lamp while it is on or connected to the mains. As it is designed for outdoor use, periodically check that the drainage system is not blocked by dirt or organic debris.

Design and use

The KOV wall light features a cylindrical aluminium body with a diameter of 80 mm and a height of 212 mm. The dimensions are compact, making it easy to integrate without taking up too much visual space on the wall. The white finish gives it a neutral appearance that fits well with light-coloured façades, whitewashed walls or exposed concrete surfaces.

The COB LED light source is recessed inside the body, which reduces direct glare and improves visual comfort. The 3000K colour temperature provides a warm light, close to that of classic tungsten, which is not harsh in night-time environments. It is a spotlight with a clean emission, free of flickering, suitable for illuminating entrances, outdoor corridors or garden pathways.

The ability to select between an angle of 34° and one of 14° makes this wall light a versatile tool. The narrower angle concentrates the beam and is useful for highlighting a specific element — a house number, a texture on the wall, a plant on the façade. The wider angle distributes light over a larger area, and is more suitable for illuminating broad surfaces or ensuring visibility at an entrance. In both cases, the light source remains hidden inside the wall light, without being directly exposed to view.

The integrated drainage system is a technical detail with practical consequences. In climates with frequent rainfall or in areas where the wall light is exposed to humidity, the accumulation of water inside the body can deteriorate the internal components over time. This design prevents it passively, without the need for additional maintenance.

Regarding installation, the wall light can be mounted both vertically and horizontally on the wall, and the direction of emission — up or down — is chosen before the lamp is definitively fixed. This makes it suitable for different situations: illuminating downward on a covered terrace, or projecting light upward to create a wall-washing effect on a façade. The wall light works well as a standalone luminaire or as part of a line of several light points distributed along a wall.

The weight of 1.09 kg makes the assembly manageable during installation. The LED light source is included, so it does not need to be purchased separately. The wall light operates at standard mains voltage of 220V to 240V, compatible with the typical domestic installation in Spain and Europe.

Questions and answers

Can the emission angle be changed once the wall light is installed on the wall?

The available angles are 34° and 14°, but the choice must be made before the definitive installation. Once the wall light is fixed to the wall, changing the angle would require dismounting it.

Can the KOV wall light be mounted in a horizontal position as well as vertical?

Yes. The design of this lamp allows it to be installed both vertically and horizontally on the wall, giving more options to adapt it to different façade or wall configurations.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included with the wall light. No additional spotlight needs to be purchased for it to be operational.
