Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installations. It works well at house entrances, facades, covered terraces, and any area where neat, functional lighting is needed. Its square shape and white finish suit clean, contemporary architecture without drawing too much attention to itself.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of direct and indirect emission with a retransmitted light source. This means the light source is not directly exposed to view, which reduces glare and makes the visual experience more comfortable. It can also be mounted vertically or horizontally, and you can choose whether the light points upward, downward, or in both directions at once.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in the lighting industry. Its outdoor products are designed with attention to constructive detail, and the integrated drainage system on this model is a good example of that.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to have an existing electrical point on the mounting surface. Since it is a surface-mounted luminaire with direct wall fixing, no additional building work is required, but it is advisable to have the electrical installation carried out by a qualified professional. Before mounting the lamp, verify that the mains voltage corresponds to the indicated range of 220V-240V.

The aluminium body requires no intensive maintenance. To clean the surface, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. Periodically check the fixing points to ensure the wall light remains securely attached to the wall.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is made from aluminium, a material that offers good resistance to outdoor conditions without adding unnecessary weight. With a net weight of 1.23 kg, it is a compact lamp that does not require a special support structure. Its dimensions — 212 mm high by 80 mm long and 87 mm deep — allow it to be integrated into spaces where there is not much room for bulky elements.

The white finish gives it a discreet profile. It does not compete visually with the surrounding architecture, but integrates into it. It is an option that works well both on the facades of single-family homes and at building entrances, gardens, or terraces. In environments where sunlight hits the wall directly during the day, the white color helps prevent the luminaire from absorbing excessive heat.

One of the most practical aspects of this model is the ability to choose the beam angle: 23° or 34°. These two angles allow you to adjust whether you want more concentrated or slightly wider illumination, depending on the intended use of the space. If the wall light is installed near an entrance door, a narrower angle can serve to illuminate the access point precisely. In a garden or a more open terrace, the wider angle distributes light better across the area.

The emission can be unidirectional or bidirectional. This means the lamp can emit light only upward, only downward, or in both directions simultaneously. That flexibility considerably changes the visual result: with upward emission, an indirect light effect can be achieved on the wall or nearby vegetation, while downward emission illuminates the ground or access point more clearly. The included COB LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm color temperature that is neither cold nor clinical, and is common in residential spaces where a calm atmosphere is desired.

The integrated drainage system is a constructive detail that makes a difference in outdoor installations. In areas where it rains frequently or where water can accumulate, this mechanism prevents moisture from being retained inside the lamp body. It is a design element aimed at extending the product's service life under real conditions of use.

Regarding installation, the lamp supports vertical or horizontal mounting, which expands placement possibilities. It can be installed on conventional walls, garden pillars, plot boundary walls, or facades. The light source is integrated into the structure, with no protruding parts that could accumulate dirt or deteriorate over time.

Questions and answers

Can the beam angle be adjusted once the lamp is installed?

The available angles are 23° and 34°, and they are selected before installation. It is not an adjustable mechanism once the wall light is fixed to the wall.

Is it possible to install this wall light in a horizontal position as well as vertical?

Yes. The design of the KOV wall light allows it to be mounted both vertically and horizontally, giving more freedom to adapt it to the available space on the wall or surface.

Is the LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included with the product. No additional bulb needs to be purchased to get the luminaire up and running.
