Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. Its geometric lines and white finish blend well with contemporary facades, building entrances, terraces, and private access areas. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, providing flexibility when installing it at different points on an exterior wall.

The lamp emits light in one or two directions — upward, downward, or both — with a 34º angle in each direction. The light source is integrated inside the body, which prevents direct glare and provides a more comfortable viewing experience. The built-in drainage system prevents water from accumulating inside the fixture, which is important for outdoor installations.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in the design and manufacture of indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine technical criteria with a refined aesthetic.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, the base must be fixed directly onto the exterior surface. Before installation, check that the support is solid and that there is no accumulated moisture in the anchoring area. The wiring must run inside the wall or be protected with a conduit suitable for outdoor use. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the wall light operates at a voltage of 220V-240V. If the wall light is mounted on a facade exposed to direct sunlight or rain, ensure that the fixing points are properly sealed.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the aluminium surface with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The white finish may accumulate dust over time, especially in areas with traffic or wind. Periodically check that no water is retained inside and that the drainage system works without obstructions. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is an outdoor wall lamp built in aluminium with a white finish. Aluminium is a material that withstands outdoor conditions well: it does not oxidise easily, is lightweight, and maintains its appearance with basic maintenance. The body has a square and compact shape, with dimensions of 212 mm high, 80 mm long, and 87 mm deep, making it discreet on the wall without losing visual presence.

The light source is an integrated COB LED, operating at 3000K. This colour temperature corresponds to a warm white light, close to the tone of traditional incandescent lamps. It is a common choice for entrances, gardens, or terraces where a welcoming atmosphere is sought without sacrificing visibility. The light source is recessed inside the body, so the light is projected without directly exposing the source, which reduces the sensation of glare.

The wall light allows two emission configurations: unidirectional — upward only or downward only — or bidirectional, with light in both directions simultaneously. The beam angle is 34º in each direction. This allows the light beam to be oriented according to need: illuminating the ground in front of a door, visually highlighting a facade, or distributing light upward and downward at the same time across a wall. The possibility of installing it vertically or horizontally further expands the usage options.

The internal drainage system is a technical detail that may go unnoticed, but is important in an outdoor lamp. When water comes into contact with the fixture — through rain, garden irrigation, or condensation — prolonged accumulation can damage the internal components. This wall light is designed so that water flows outward without pooling inside.

The KOV works well on a residential terrace, at a garden entrance, on a boundary wall, on the facade of a detached house, or in an interior courtyard with outdoor access. The white colour of the body is neutral and adapts to both light-coloured surfaces and stone or exposed brick walls. In outdoor settings with vegetation, the warm light of the 3000K source creates a pleasant contrast with the green tones of the garden.

When combined with other luminaires from the same line, the result is an orderly and coherent lighting scheme along a facade. It can also be mixed with other geometric aluminium wall lights or more classic lanterns, depending on the style of the surroundings. The white finish is one of the most versatile for outdoor use, as it does not compete with the colours of the architecture and remains visible without drawing too much attention during the day.

Questions and answers

Is it possible to install the KOV wall light in both vertical and horizontal positions?

Yes. The wall light supports both mounting orientations, allowing it to be adapted to different positions on the wall depending on the lighting effect desired.

What colour temperature does the included lamp have and what type of light does it produce?

The included COB LED light source operates at 3000K, which corresponds to a warm white light. It is suitable for entrances, gardens, and terraces where a comfortable atmosphere is sought.

Does the wall light include a system to prevent water from accumulating inside?

Yes. The body incorporates a drainage system that allows water to exit without being retained inside, which extends the lifespan of the lamp in outdoor conditions.
