Overview

This outdoor wall light is designed for those looking for a lamp that works well on facades, house entrances, or terraces without drawing too much attention. It mounts directly on the wall and projects light forward in a clean manner, without decorative elements that distort the space. The transparent glass diffuser lets you see the light source without filters, resulting in direct, well-defined illumination.

The body is made of die-cast aluminum with a dark grey finish. This makes it resistant to outdoor conditions without adding excessive weight. The design is contemporary, without ornamentation, with straight lines that adapt well to modern or renovated facades. It was designed by Alex and Manel Lluscà, a studio with a well-established track record in functional lighting.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine design criteria with materials built to last under real-world conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

For the installation of this outdoor wall light, it is recommended to use a qualified electrician. The fixture must be mounted on a solid, level surface. Before connecting, make sure the circuit is de-energized. The GU10 LED lamp is not included, so it must be purchased separately before putting the wall light into operation. It is important to check that the chosen bulb does not exceed the indicated maximum power of 8 W.

Die-cast aluminum requires no special maintenance, but it is advisable to clean the surface occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. The diffuser glass can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Periodically check that the mounting points are properly tightened, especially after periods of heavy rain or wind.

Design and use

This outdoor wall light combines materials designed to withstand continuous outdoor use with a design that does not visually overload the facade. The die-cast aluminum body is compact and robust. The dark grey finish works well on concrete, stone, or light render walls, without creating forced contrast. It is a wall light that integrates effortlessly into contemporary settings.

The transparent glass diffuser is one of the elements that distinguishes this lamp. Unlike opaline diffusers, transparent glass projects light with greater definition. This may be of interest when you want to clearly mark an entrance, illuminate a door number, or highlight a section of wall. The GU10 LED light source, which the user selects and installs, largely defines the tone and intensity of the final result. With a warm-light bulb, a more welcoming atmosphere is achieved; with a neutral-light bulb, the effect is more functional and clear.

In terms of dimensions, the wall light is discreet. At 225 mm high and 115 mm wide, it takes up little space on the wall and does not interfere with other exterior elements. That size makes it suitable for gardens, terraces, or covered entryways alike. On a narrow facade or one with limited clearance, it fits without any issues. It can also be installed in outdoor corridors or on the sides of a garage door.

For those renovating a facade or updating outdoor lighting points, this wall light works well for both new installations and replacements. It is not a lamp with a motion sensor or built-in detector, but it can be connected to a circuit that already has an external sensor or timer. In that case, the wall light responds to the control system previously installed, whether a separate motion detector or a time relay.

Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V makes it easy to use in different countries or in installations with grid variations. The GU10 socket is one of the most common on the market, making it straightforward to find the right LED bulb.

The design by Alex and Manel Lluscà favors sobriety. There are no decorative details that could deteriorate with sun or rain. The wall light maintains its appearance over time precisely because it does not rely on delicate finishes. In a garden with vegetation or on a terrace with contemporary-style furniture, this type of luminaire becomes part of the overall setting without dominating the scene.
