Overview

DUNE is an outdoor wall light designed for functional illumination on facades, entrances, open-air corridors, and signage areas. It mounts directly to the wall and provides clean, directed light without elements that protrude too far from the surface. It is a lamp designed for those who want to illuminate the exterior of their home in a discreet and straightforward way.

What sets this wall light apart is the integrated switch that allows you to choose between four color temperatures: 2200K, 2700K, 3000K, or 4000K. This way, the same lamp can provide warm, soft light for a terrace or a more neutral light for an entrance or garage. There is no need to change the bulb or install anything additional — simply select the option that best suits the space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products combine solid construction with a design that does not draw too much attention, making them compatible with a wide variety of facades and styles.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a recessed wall box or a flat surface to mount the wall light is required. As this is an outdoor luminaire, the wiring must be properly protected before proceeding with the installation. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional. Before connecting the lamp, make sure to cut the power supply at the main panel.

The aluminum body requires no special maintenance. To clean the surface, simply use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the oxide brown finish. Periodically check that the fixture remains securely fixed to the wall, especially after periods of heavy rain or wind.

Design and use

The DUNE wall light has a square and compact format, with 100 mm sides and only 35 mm in depth. That very flat profile allows it to integrate well into any wall without casting strange shadows or taking up visual space. The body is aluminum with an oxide brown finish, an earthy tone reminiscent of rustic materials that looks good on both stone facades and plastered walls or wood cladding.

The diffuser is made of transparent polycarbonate, which allows the light point to be seen directly and the true color of the selected temperature to be appreciated. There are no filters or opal diffusers that modify the tone — the light that comes out is the one chosen with the switch.

This ability to switch between four color temperatures makes this lamp a quite versatile wall light. A main entrance can benefit from 4000K for clearer and more functional illumination. A terrace or garden at night gains in ambiance with 2200K, which is reminiscent of candlelight or the sun on the horizon. The 2700K and 3000K are intermediate options that work well in passageways or on facades where a balance between warmth and visibility is desired.

The SMD LED light source is included. With only 3 W of consumption, this lamp maintains very low energy use. It is suitable for being on for several hours a day without that being noticeable on the electricity bill.

As for its uses, this wall light fits in entrances of single-family homes, outdoor corridors, patios, gardens, or any area where a path needs to be marked or an access point illuminated. It can also be used on outdoor staircases or on the perimeter of a terrace to define the space with light. It is not a high-power spotlight designed to illuminate large surfaces, but rather a lamp oriented toward signage and ambiance.

Although it lacks an integrated motion sensor, it can be combined with an external detector if automated switching is desired. Similarly, if the project requires multiple light points, it is possible to install several units of this wall light on the same facade or wall while maintaining visual consistency thanks to the uniform oxide brown finish.

The reduced weight, less than 250 grams, makes installation easier and does not require special anchoring on most surfaces. It is a practical option when renewing outdoor lighting without wanting to carry out complex work.

Questions and answers

Is the switch for selecting the color temperature accessible after installing the wall light on the wall?

The switch is integrated into the body of the wall light. Depending on how the lamp is oriented after mounting, it may be necessary to partially remove it to change the selection. It is recommended to choose the color temperature before permanently fixing the wall light to the wall.

Does the aluminum body with an oxide brown finish hold up well to prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

Aluminum is a material that tolerates outdoor conditions well. The oxide brown finish is designed precisely for that environment. Even so, occasional cleaning with a dry cloth helps keep the fixture looking good for longer.

Is this wall light compatible with an external motion sensor system?

The lamp itself does not include a motion sensor or detector. However, as it operates at standard voltage of 220V–240V, it can be connected to an external motion sensor installed in the circuit, provided it is compatible with low-power LED loads.
