Overview

The DORO wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It is mounted directly on the wall and projects light in both directions, allowing balanced illumination of a façade, a terrace, or the entrance of a home. The body is made of aluminium and the diffuser is made of prismatic glass, giving it a solid appearance while allowing a soft distribution of light.

This wall light operates with integrated SMD LED technology, so no bulb replacement is required. The IP65 protection makes it suitable for rain and dust conditions, without having to worry about the weather. It is a practical option for those looking for an outdoor lamp with a refined finish and strong visual presence.

FARO is a brand with experience in luminaires for residential and commercial environments. Their products are characterised by combining functionality with a design that adapts well to different space styles.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to use a qualified electrician. The wall light is fixed directly onto the exterior wall using the included anchor points. Before starting, make sure the electrical supply corresponds to a 220V–240V network. Check that the wall surface is clean, level, and dry. Do not install the light in areas where it may be exposed to standing water, even though it has IP65 protection.

For cleaning, use a soft, slightly damp cloth on the aluminium body and the glass. Avoid abrasive products or solvents. Do not handle the lamp while it is connected to the power supply. Periodically check that the wall mounting screws are in good condition.

Design and use

The DORO wall light has an elongated and compact shape. With a length of 380 mm and only 58 mm in height, it fits well on walls with limited space without losing visual presence. The rust brown finish of the aluminium body gives it a warm tone that works well alongside natural materials such as stone, brick, or wood. It is not a wall light that goes unnoticed, but it is not excessive either on façades with a rustic or Mediterranean style.

The prismatic glass diffuser is designed to distribute light evenly on both sides of the wall light. This makes the lamp particularly useful at entrances, outdoor corridors, or passageways where clarity is needed without glare points. The colour temperature of 3000K provides a warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which creates a pleasant atmosphere on terraces and gardens during the night hours.

The integrated SMD LED technology with a total power of 20W ensures an adequate level of illumination for residential outdoor spaces. No bulb replacement is needed because the light source is included and forms part of the structure of the fixture. This reduces long-term maintenance and simplifies everyday use.

The IP65 protection means that this wall light is prepared to withstand direct rain and dust or dirt particles. This is an important feature for any lamp intended for outdoor use, whether on a façade exposed to sun and wind, on a terrace with partial roof cover, or in a garden with nearby vegetation.

The aluminium body material provides durability without adding excessive weight. Weighing less than two kilograms, it is easy to handle during installation. The combination of aluminium and glass means the lamp withstands the temperature changes typical of outdoor environments, from cold nights to days of intense sunshine.

This wall light fits well in settings where a balance between durability and aesthetics is sought. A country house façade, a building entrance with stone cladding, a garden wall, or the sides of a covered terrace are some of the spaces where the DORO model can be integrated without forcing the overall look. It can also work as a complementary lamp alongside a floor lantern or other wall lights from the same range, creating a coherent outdoor lighting scheme.

Although it does not incorporate a motion sensor or presence detector, its design allows for a clean installation with no additional visible elements. The absence of a sensor simplifies the wiring and makes control easier from a conventional switch or a basic home automation system if the home already has one.

Questions and answers

Does the DORO wall light project light in one direction only or in both directions?

The lamp projects light on both sides, both upward and downward. This allows for broader illumination of the wall surface and the surrounding space.

Is IP65 protection sufficient for installation on a façade directly exposed to rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating guarantees total protection against dust and against water jets from any direction, making it suitable for uncovered outdoor spaces.

Does the wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included with the wall light. No additional bulb needs to be purchased for it to function.
