What level of protection does this wall light offer against rain, and can it be installed outdoors without a cover?

The luminaire has an IP44 rating, which protects against water splashes from any direction and against solid particles. It can be installed outdoors without a cover under normal rainfall conditions, although placing it in an area with some protection helps extend its service life.

Does the brass body require any special treatment to maintain its finish outdoors?
