Overview

The FARO ALP wall light is a wall lamp designed for outdoor lighting. It is mounted directly on the wall and projects light both upward and downward, bathing the surface in soft, even light. The result is lighting that combines the functional with the decorative: the façade, entrance or terrace gain presence without the need to install multiple spotlights.

This wall light is designed for those looking for a simple and durable solution for the exterior of the home. It requires no complicated installation, and its compact size means it fits well in spaces where there is not much room for a larger lamp.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine contemporary design with materials suited to each environment, making them a common choice in home renovation projects.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor wall light, you need a recessed box or an existing power point in the wall. It is fixed directly to the surface, with no additional structures required. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor environments where the connection must be properly protected against moisture.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminium body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish should not be used. Since the lamp is designed for outdoor use, it is advisable to periodically check the condition of the seals and the wall fixings.

Design and use

The ALP wall light has a clean, contemporary design that adapts well to both modern façades and more neutral environments. The body is made of die-cast aluminium, a resilient material that withstands outdoor conditions without losing its appearance over time. The dark grey finish gives it a discreet profile that does not compete with the building's architecture, but complements it.

The polycarbonate diffuser with an opal finish distributes light softly, without creating areas of excessive brightness or dark spots. The lamp projects the beam in two directions, upward and downward, allowing the wall to be illuminated in a decorative way. This effect is especially noticeable at entrances, outdoor corridors or next to front doors, where the light creates a welcoming atmosphere without being harsh.

The included SMD LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm colour temperature reminiscent of traditional light. This tone is common in rest or transition areas, where a calm atmosphere is sought rather than intense task lighting. With a maximum power of 8W, energy consumption is modest for the visual result it delivers.

The wall light operates at voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid without the need for adapters. Its weight of under one kilogram makes it easy to handle during installation, and its compact dimensions allow it to be placed in spaces where a larger lamp would not fit.

In terms of usage environments, this wall light fits well at a house entrance, in the garden next to a path or door, on a covered terrace or on the side façade of a building. It can also be combined with other elements from the ALP series, such as the bollards that are part of the same range, to create a visually coherent look throughout the outdoor space.

If the garden or patio has vegetation, the warm light of the wall light can enhance the textures of plants or the ground without the need to add extra spotlights. On stone or brick façades, the effect of the upward and downward beam clearly accentuates the relief and adds depth to the overall look.

For those renovating the exterior of their home, this type of lamp practically resolves the need to illuminate the access without resorting to more complex solutions. It does not require a motion sensor or special programming: it works like a conventional lamp, with the standard switch.

Questions and answers

Does the ALP wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 8W, 3000K SMD LED light source. It does not need to be purchased separately or matched with other bulbs.

In which direction does this wall light project light?

The wall light emits light both upward and downward, bathing the wall in both directions. This creates a decorative effect on the surface without concentrating all the illumination at a single point.

Is it possible to combine this wall light with bollards from the same series to illuminate a garden or outdoor access?

Yes. The ALP wall light is part of a series that also includes outdoor bollards. Combining the wall light with the bollards allows a uniform aesthetic to be maintained throughout the outdoor space, from the façade to the garden floor or terrace.
