Installation and specifications

Verify that the existing wiring is compatible with the voltage indicated in the specifications.

To clean the lamp, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminium finish or the PC diffuser. Periodically check that the anchors remain secure, especially after periods of rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The TWIST wall light is part of an outdoor lighting series created by Estudi Ribaudí for the brand FARO. The design starts from a simple idea: a body with a latticed structure that, when lit from within, projects patterns onto the wall and the immediate surroundings. It is not a forced or overly decorative effect, but something that happens naturally as the lamp operates.

The body is made of aluminium with a dark grey finish. It is a material that holds up well in outdoor conditions: temperature changes, humidity and continuous use over time. Aluminium is also lightweight, making wall mounting straightforward without the need for complicated anchors. The diffuser is made of opal PC, a material that softens the emission of the LED source and prevents the light point from being directly exposed to view.

The light source is SMD LED, already included in the wall light. It operates at 10 W and emits light at 3000K, which corresponds to a warm tone. This type of lighting is common in outdoor living areas, such as a terrace or a garden, because it is neither cold nor clinical. It is closer to the light of a sunny afternoon than to that of an office.

In terms of dimensions, the wall light measures 300 mm in height, 140 mm in length and 150 mm in depth. It is a balanced size: not so small as to go unnoticed, nor so large as to dominate the wall. It fits well in spaces with little free surface, such as the sides of an entrance door or garden walls with nearby vegetation.

The TWIST wall light works well on its own or in a composition. If the wall is long, several wall lights distributed at regular intervals create a continuous line of illumination that visually guides the path without the need to install any additional floor-level spotlights. On a façade, it can be placed at eye level to mark the entrance, or slightly higher to illuminate a wide area without causing glare.

The dark grey finish makes it compatible with materials such as exposed concrete, natural stone, treated wood or brick. It does not clash with more rustic settings or with more restrained, contemporary designs. It is a luminaire that adapts effortlessly to what already exists in the space, rather than requiring the space to adapt to it.

For a terrace with outdoor furniture, the wall light provides illumination without occupying table or floor surface. Installed on the perimeter wall, it keeps the central space free and creates a diffusely lit atmosphere without harsh shadows. The warm light at 3000K promotes the kind of relaxed ambiance sought in an outdoor living area when the sun goes down.

In gardens, it can be combined with other floor or post luminaires to create different planes of light. The wall-mounted fixture covers the mid and upper zone, while other sources handle the lower level. Does the TWIST wall light include the bulb, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included with the wall light. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or carry out any additional installation before connecting the lamp.

Does the aluminium body hold up well to prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

Aluminium is a common material in outdoor luminaires precisely because it withstands both solar exposure and humidity well. The dark grey finish also helps to conceal the effect of dust and water marks over time.

Does this wall light work with a motion sensor or external detector?

The TWIST wall light does not incorporate a motion sensor or integrated detector. If you wish to automate its operation, it would need to be connected to an external control system compatible with the existing electrical installation.
