Installation and specifications

For installation, you need a recessed wall box or an electrical connection point on the outer surface. Design and use

The PILL wall light has a very restrained profile: 85 mm high, 100 mm long, and just 30 mm deep. Mounted flush against the wall, it barely protrudes. This makes it useful at entrances, outdoor corridors, or walkways where the space between the wall and the traffic area is limited. It also works well on small balconies where a larger lamp would look out of scale.

The body is made of aluminium, a common material in outdoor luminaires due to its resistance to temperature changes and its low tendency to corrode. The dark grey finish gives a neutral result that does not draw too much attention during the day, but performs its function correctly when night falls. This tone integrates well with concrete, stone, or darkened wood façades, and also contrasts neatly with white or light-coloured walls.

The diffuser is made of opal glass. This material disperses light rather than projecting it in a direct beam, which reduces glare and creates a more uniform illuminated area. For a fixture installed on an outdoor wall, this is useful because it prevents the light source from being uncomfortable when viewed head-on. The light it produces has a colour temperature of 3000K, which corresponds to a warm tone. The ability to orient the fixture with the light directed upward or downward considerably changes the visual result. With the light facing downward, the lamp acts as a floor spotlight or a pathway marker. With the light facing upward, the effect is more decorative: the light travels up the wall and creates a softer atmosphere. In a garden, for example, this second option can be used to illuminate a boundary wall or highlight a planting area next to the façade.

On a terrace, the wall light can be positioned at the usual height of switches or slightly higher, depending on the desired effect. On a balcony, it works well next to the exit door, where orientation lighting is needed without taking up space or being intrusive from indoors.

Can the PILL wall light be installed with the light directed both upward and downward?

Yes. The wall light is designed to be mounted in both positions. Depending on how it is fixed to the wall, the light can be projected toward the floor or upward, making it possible to adapt the result to different outdoor lighting needs.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included in the fixture. No additional bulb needs to be purchased. The light comes ready to connect once the electrical installation has been completed.

Is the aluminium body suitable for areas exposed to the elements?

Aluminium is a common material in outdoor luminaires due to its stable behaviour in the face of humidity and temperature changes. The dark grey finish also helps protect the surface. For installations that are heavily exposed to direct sunlight or heavy rain, consult an installer to determine whether additional protection is required at the electrical connection point.
