Overview

The FARO outdoor wall light is a wall lamp designed for those looking for a durable, clean-looking lighting solution in outdoor spaces. It mounts directly on the wall and works well at house entrances, facades, garages, or any outdoor area that needs constant, hassle-free light.

The body is made of die-cast aluminium with a dark grey finish, a tone that effortlessly blends into walls of different colours and materials. The opal diffuser distributes light gently, without creating annoying reflections or areas with excessive brightness. No sensor or special mechanism is needed: it is a continuous-use lamp, simple and straightforward.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products stand out for their attention to materials and a contemporary design that does not seek to draw attention, but rather to fit seamlessly into the environment where it is placed.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on an exterior wall, an existing light point in the wall is required, or the wiring must be prepared before mounting. As a surface-mounted luminaire, the base is fixed directly against the wall with the included anchors. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a professional, especially outdoors where humidity and weather conditions require well-sealed connections. Before starting, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the body surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the aluminium finish. The opal diffuser is cleaned in the same way, gently, to preserve its uniform transparency. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the lamp during cleaning.

Design and use

This FARO wall light has a compact cubic format: 165 mm in each dimension. It does not take up much space on the facade, but provides well-distributed light thanks to the opal polycarbonate diffuser. Polycarbonate is a material resistant to impacts and weathering, making it particularly suitable for an outdoor lamp exposed to temperature changes, wind, or rain.

The die-cast aluminium body provides solidity without adding unnecessary weight. At just over one kilogram, the wall light holds securely on the wall without requiring complex anchors. The dark grey finish gives it a sober, contemporary look that works on both modern facades and stone or exposed brick walls. It is not a decorative lantern or a striking piece: it is a luminaire designed to do its job well and go unnoticed when not switched on.

In terms of use, this wall light is a good option for illuminating the entrance of a home, the side of a garage, a covered terrace, or a courtyard with access from inside. It also fits well in gardens where fixed light is needed at a specific point, without relying on a motion sensor or solar power. The absence of a sensor or detector makes it a direct-operation lamp: it turns on and off with the switch, with no automation.

The E27 socket accepts standard LED bulbs of up to 15 W. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately. An LED bulb with that socket is easy to find and allows the light tone to be adjusted according to preference: cool white, warm white, or neutral light. The voltage is universal, from 100V to 240V, meaning it works without adaptation on any domestic electrical network.

On a terrace, for example, this wall light can be placed at eye level to mark the transition between areas or simply to provide ambient light to the space. In a garden, installed on a perimeter wall or on the exterior wall of a shed, it helps with orientation at night without the need for high-power spotlights. On the main facade of a house, two units on either side of the door create a balanced and orderly result.

The contemporary style of the wall light makes it compatible with clean-design environments, but also with more traditional exteriors where the dark grey aluminium contrasts well with natural materials. It is not strictly an industrial or rustic piece, but it has enough versatility to adapt to different contexts without looking out of place.

Questions and answers

Does this wall light include the E27 LED bulb?

No, the lamp does not include a light source. It is necessary to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 socket, LED-compatible, with a maximum power of 15 W.

Does the opal polycarbonate diffuser withstand prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

Polycarbonate is a material designed for outdoor use. It withstands direct solar radiation and temperature changes without deforming or losing its opal finish over time.

What type of mounting does this wall light use and how is it installed on the wall?

It is a surface-mounted luminaire that is anchored directly to the wall via the fixing points on the base. It does not require a recessed box, but does require a pre-existing wiring point in the wall. Installation by an electrician is recommended.
