Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installation. It works well on facades, entrances, patios, and terrace areas where focused lighting is needed without visual clutter. Its round shape and black finish give it a clean profile that fits well with brick, concrete, or smooth cladding surfaces.

What sets this wall light apart is the ability to choose the emission angle: 23° or 34°, both upward and downward. This allows you to adjust the direction of the light depending on what you want to illuminate, without being limited to a fixed position. It can also be mounted vertically or horizontally, providing flexibility during installation.

The light source is integrated and directed inward within the housing, which reduces direct glare. The internal drainage system prevents water from accumulating inside the wall light, a technical detail that makes a real difference in areas exposed to rain.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in designing indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine technical criteria with a refined visual style, designed to integrate into domestic and architectural environments.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall box is correctly recessed and that the wiring reaches with sufficient length. As this is an outdoor lamp, it is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure the wall where it will be fixed can support the weight of the wall light and that there is no structural moisture in the anchoring area. The mounting can be done in either a vertical or horizontal position, depending on the desired result.

To clean the surface of the wall light, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the black aluminium finish. Periodically check that the drainage system is not blocked by dirt or plant debris, especially if the wall light is exposed to areas with nearby vegetation. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is made from aluminium, a material that withstands outdoor conditions well: temperature changes, humidity, and prolonged sun exposure without the surface deteriorating quickly. The matte black finish gives it a solid appearance that does not draw too much attention, but instead integrates into the facade or wall without excessive prominence.

The body has a cylindrical shape with a diameter of 80 mm and a height of 212 mm. It is a compact lamp, with a depth of 87 mm from the wall, meaning it does not protrude excessively. This makes it suitable for outdoor corridors, entrances, or passageways where lateral space is limited.

The COB LED light source is included and operates at 3000K, a warm colour temperature that feels comfortable without being overly yellow. This tone works well in gardens, patios, or entrances where a welcoming light is desired at night. Total consumption is 2x6W, placing it in an efficient range for the level of illumination it provides.

One of the most practical features of the KOV wall light is the option to choose between two beam angles: 23° or 34°. The narrower beam concentrates the light on a specific area, useful for highlighting an architectural element or illuminating an entrance precisely. The wider beam spreads the light over a larger area, more suitable when functional lighting is needed over a broad terrace or garden zone.

The ability to direct the light upward or downward adds another level of control. Directed upward, the wall light can outline the silhouette of a wall or enhance the texture of a cladding. Directed downward, it acts as a functional spotlight illuminating the ground or a passageway. In both cases, the light source directed inward within the housing prevents glare from disturbing those nearby.

The integrated drainage system is a design detail that few luminaires of this size incorporate. In areas where rain is frequent, water can seep through small gaps and accumulate inside, accelerating the deterioration of components. This wall light resolves that problem passively, without the need for additional maintenance.

Regarding wall installation, the wall light can be fixed in either a vertical or horizontal position. This flexibility allows the emission direction to be adapted to the geometry of the space without needing to rotate the lamp body. It works well on both smooth facades and more textured walls, as long as the surface is flat at the anchoring point.

In a garden, it can be placed at mid-height to define a path or mark an entrance without an additional motion sensor. On a terrace, the wall light can be combined with other light points to create balanced lighting that does not depend on a single spotlight. On facades, its discreet profile does not alter the building's line.

Questions and answers

Does the KOV wall light allow the light emission angle to be adjusted once installed?

The emission angle is chosen at the time of installation: 23° or 34°. It is not an adjustable system once mounted, but rather a configuration that is defined before fixing the wall light to the wall.

Can this wall light be mounted in a horizontal position without losing functionality?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be installed both vertically and horizontally. In both positions it maintains the same lighting efficiency and the drainage system continues to function correctly.

Is the included COB LED light source replaceable by the user?

The lamp has the light source integrated from the factory. If you experience any issue with it, the most appropriate course of action is to contact customer service to assess the solution.
