Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It is mounted directly on the wall and offers unidirectional or bidirectional illumination, depending on how the modules are oriented. It is a suitable option for facades, entrances, terraces, and other uncovered spaces where clean, well-directed light is needed.

What sets this wall light apart is its recessed light source, which prevents direct glare. The light is emitted in a controlled manner, with no bright spots visible. In addition, the emission angle can be chosen between 34° and 14°, allowing the beam width to be adjusted to suit the space. This provides a degree of flexibility without needing to change the lamp.

FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine functionality with carefully considered technical design, built to last under real-world conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to use a qualified electrician. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the appropriate anchors for the surface type. Before mounting, verify that the existing junction box is compatible with the product's dimensions. The wiring must be protected and not exposed to the elements.

The white aluminium surface can be cleaned with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. It is advisable to periodically check the condition of the seal and the drainage system to ensure that water does not become trapped. The lamp must not be dismounted while connected to the power supply.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a compact format and a very restrained profile. Its reduced dimensions — 212 mm high by 80 mm long and 87 mm deep — allow it to be integrated without taking up too much visual space on the wall. On a facade with several lighting points, this helps maintain a tidy appearance.

The body is made of white lacquered aluminium. Aluminium handles temperature variations and humidity well, which are common in outdoor environments. The white colour is neutral and adapts to light or dark surfaces without creating excessive contrast. It also fits well in spaces where the other elements follow a modern or minimalist style.

The COB LED light source is recessed inside the wall light, ensuring visual comfort. There is no visible filament or exposed light point. The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to warm white, which is pleasant on terraces and in gardens at night. It is not a cold or clinical light, but rather similar to what is associated with welcoming atmospheres.

One of the most practical features of this wall light is the ability to choose the emission angle: 34° for a wider distribution, or 14° to concentrate the beam. This choice is made at the time of installation and allows the light focus to be adapted to the type of space. In a narrow entrance, a narrow angle may be sufficient. On a wide terrace or next to a garden, a wider angle provides better coverage.

The light can also be directed upwards or downwards, or in both directions at once. This allows it to be used as a wall light that illuminates the ground in front of a door, or as an element that highlights the texture of the facade by projecting light upwards. In gardens and patios, this flexibility makes it easier to create lighting effects without needing to install several separate light points.

The integrated drainage system is a technical detail with practical consequences. It prevents rainwater from accumulating inside the wall light, which would extend the product's service life and reduce the risk of moisture damage. In areas with frequent rainfall or in installations directly exposed to the outdoors, this system makes a real difference.

The wall light operates on a standard voltage of 220V–240V and consumes a maximum of 12 W in total. It is an efficient lamp for what it offers in terms of coverage and light quality. It works well in both residential installations and shared building spaces or private access areas.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The design allows it to be installed in both vertical and horizontal orientation on the wall, providing flexibility to adapt it to different facade or access configurations.

What is the difference between the two available emission angles, 34° and 14°?

The 34° angle distributes light in a wider cone, suitable for illuminating larger surfaces or open spaces such as a terrace or garden. The 14° angle concentrates the beam, which is useful when you want to direct the light towards a specific point with greater precision.

Does the lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased to start using the wall light after installation.
