Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor spaces. It works well at entrances, open-air corridors, facades, and garden areas where discreet and directed lighting is needed. Its square shape in white fits effortlessly into contemporary finishes and neutral-toned wall surfaces.

What sets this wall light apart is the ability to direct light upward, downward, or in both directions at the same time. The 23° emission angle on each side concentrates the beam precisely, avoiding unnecessary dispersion. The light source is integrated within the body, so there is no direct glare when walking nearby.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in luminaire design for residential and architectural use. Their products combine technical criteria with a restrained aesthetic, designed to last over time without losing presence.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor wall light, it is recommended to hire an electrician. The wiring must be protected and sealed against moisture before securing the body to the wall. Check that the mounting surface is solid and flat to ensure stable contact. The model supports mounting in both vertical and horizontal positions, providing flexibility depending on the layout of the space.

To clean the body, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white aluminum finish. Do not handle the lamp while the installation is connected to the electrical supply.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is built in aluminum, a material that offers good resistance to temperature changes and prolonged sun exposure. The white finish gives it a clean appearance that does not visually accumulate dust or dirt from the outdoor environment. The body is compact, with a depth of just 87 mm, so it does not protrude too much from the wall.

The integrated drainage system in the structure prevents water from accumulating inside the wall light after rain. This is a relevant constructive detail for any outdoor lamp, as water pooling is one of the most common causes of deterioration in facade luminaires. With this design, water simply drains outward without becoming trapped.

The included COB LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm temperature that is pleasant to the eye during nighttime hours. It does not produce the bluish coldness found in some outdoor spotlights, but rather a tone closer to traditional incandescent light. This makes the atmosphere around the wall light feel welcoming without losing functionality.

The ability to install the spotlight directed upward or downward considerably expands the range of uses. At an entrance, downward light helps to see the ground clearly. On a facade or in a garden, pointing upward highlights wall textures or nearby vegetation. The bidirectional model combines both effects, making it a practical solution when you want to illuminate with a single wall light without sacrificing visual presence.

On a terrace or along the perimeter of a garden, this type of lamp works especially well when several units are placed at regular intervals. The directed and contained light allows for the creation of a sequence of light points that defines the space without overwhelming it. In areas that receive some sunlight during the day, the white color of the aluminum does not tire the eye visually or draw too much attention before nightfall.

The square format of the wall light fits well in environments with straight lines: concrete walls, stone cladding, smooth facades, or dark wood. It can also be combined with other garden elements of a similar aesthetic: lighting columns, ground spotlights, or recessed luminaires. Consistency in shapes and finishes is what gives unity to an outdoor space designed with intention.

For installations in areas with motion sensors or presence detectors, this wall light supports connection to external automation systems. It does not include its own sensor, but can be integrated into a circuit with a motion sensor already installed on the wall or at another point of access.

Questions and answers

Does this wall light allow light to be emitted in two directions at the same time?

Yes. The KOV model can be installed in a unidirectional configuration, either upward only or downward only, or in a bidirectional configuration emitting light in both directions. The 23° angle applies to each direction of emission.

Does the white aluminum body hold up well under direct sun exposure for months?

Aluminum is a stable material when faced with thermal changes and continuous solar radiation. The white finish may lose some intensity over time if sun exposure is very intense, but the structure of the wall light is not affected in its mechanical properties.

Is the light source included, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED lamp is included with the wall light. No additional light source needs to be purchased for installation.
