Overview

The FARO KOV wall light is a lamp designed for outdoor use. It is well suited to entrances, façades, terraces and outdoor corridors where functional and discreet lighting is needed. Its compact format allows it to be installed in spaces with little margin, without the fixture looking disproportionate relative to the surface on which it is mounted.

What sets this model apart is the combination of direct and indirect light with a built-in LED source. The lamp does not project the beam of light openly, but recesses it within the body, which reduces glare and makes the lighting more comfortable for the eyes. It can be oriented in a single or bidirectional configuration, and the fixture supports mounting in both vertical and horizontal positions on the wall.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting design for indoor and outdoor use. Their products combine precise technical criteria with careful finishes, designed to last under real-use conditions.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the electrical box in the wall is properly secured and compatible with the anchoring system of the model. The fixture is mounted directly on the exterior wall. Make sure the surface is dry, flat and free of irregularities. As this is an outdoor lamp, it is important to seal the cable entry points thoroughly to prevent moisture ingress. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician.

To clean the surface of the fixture, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the black aluminium finish. Periodically check the condition of the body and fixing points, especially after periods of heavy rain or extreme temperature fluctuations.

Design and use

The body of the KOV wall light is made of aluminium, a material that combines lightness and durability. The matt black finish gives it a clean, technical look that fits well in both modern outdoor settings and more neutral environments. It does not draw excessive attention — it is simply there and does its job.

The light source is an integrated 6W COB LED, included with the fixture at the time of purchase. The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb. This is a tone that feels pleasant at house entrances, gardens and terraces, where a cool light could create an overly clinical or industrial atmosphere. The 34° beam angle concentrates the light on a specific area, making it a suitable lamp for illuminating a section of wall, a house number, a front door or a decorative element in the garden.

One of the most practical aspects of this model is its internal drainage system. In an outdoor lamp, water pooling inside the body can damage the components over time. The KOV design addresses this issue from the outset, with channels that facilitate water drainage and prevent it from accumulating inside the fixture.

Installation versatility is another advantage. The lamp can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the wall, allowing it to be adapted to different configurations without changing the assembly. On a narrow façade it may look better in a vertical position; next to a wider door, the horizontal position may better balance the overall visual composition. In addition, the option to configure the lighting as unidirectional or bidirectional provides some flexibility in deciding how and where the light is projected in each specific situation.

This wall light works well in gardens where the aim is to mark a path or highlight a wall without installing several larger spotlights. On a terrace, placed at the right height on the wall, it provides sufficient light to move around comfortably without creating an overly bright environment. It is also a coherent option for garages, building entrances or any outdoor point where a clear and contained light signal is needed.

The light weight of the fixture, less than one kilogram, makes it easy to handle during installation. The compact size, with a diameter of 80mm and a height of 108mm, makes it discreet on the wall and does not visually interfere with the surroundings.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions on the wall, making it easy to adapt to different façade or access configurations.

Is the COB LED lamp included with the fixture or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 6W COB LED light source is included with the fixture. No additional bulb needs to be purchased to put the lamp into operation.

Does the KOV wall light drainage system require any specific maintenance?

The drainage system is integrated into the body of the fixture itself and requires no special maintenance. It is recommended to visually inspect the exterior of the fixture periodically to ensure there are no obstructions or dirt accumulation at the water outlet points.
