Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installations. It works well at home entrances, facades, garages, or any area where directed and long-lasting lighting is needed. Its compact format and matte black finish allow it to blend effortlessly into different types of surfaces.

What sets this wall light apart is its recessed light source: the bulb is not visible, which prevents direct glare. The light is emitted in a controlled manner, with a 34° angle, ideal for illuminating a specific point without spreading brightness into areas where it is not needed. It can be oriented in one or two directions, and mounted either vertically or horizontally depending on how the installation is planned.

FARO is a company with a track record in designing luminaires for residential and commercial spaces. Its catalogue includes both indoor and outdoor solutions, with attention to technical detail and material durability.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to have a flush-mounted junction box in the wall or a cable outlet prepared on the surface. As it is a direct wall-mounted light, it is advisable to check that the support is solid and capable of holding the weight of the unit. Since this is an outdoor lamp, it is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if cabling needs to be routed through areas exposed to moisture.

To clean the body of the wall light, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish should not be used. It is advisable to periodically check the condition of the fixing points and ensure that the internal drainage system is not blocked, so that water does not accumulate inside the housing.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a clean-lined design and circular geometry. The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands temperature changes and prolonged outdoor exposure well. The black finish is not only an aesthetic choice: it also helps the wall light avoid visibly accumulating heat and remain discreet on both light and dark coloured surfaces alike.

One of the most carefully considered aspects of this lamp is its integrated drainage system. In areas where it rains frequently, water pooling inside an outdoor luminaire can cause damage over time. This wall light incorporates a technical solution to allow water to flow outward without the need for intervention. It is a detail that cannot be seen but that extends the product's useful life.

The 6W COB LED light source with a colour temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb. That tone is neither cold nor clinical: it gives a more welcoming feel at entrances, gardens or terraces, where night-time lighting forms part of the overall atmosphere of the space. The 34° angle concentrates the beam of light, making it useful for highlighting a specific element, marking a path or illuminating a transit area without wasting light on the sides.

This wall lamp supports vertical or horizontal mounting, providing flexibility when installing it according to the existing cable outlet or the desired orientation of the beam. It also offers the option of unidirectional or bidirectional lighting, adapting to different needs without changing the fixture.

As for the spaces where it makes most sense, the KOV wall light fits well on house facades, garden walls, garage entrances and covered terraces. It can also be used in interior courtyards with outdoor access, provided that humidity conditions allow it. Its small size — 80 mm in diameter and 108 mm in height — means it does not take up too much visual space and can be used on walls where there is little room for a larger lamp.

The black colour of the body pairs well with materials such as exposed concrete, natural stone, dark brick or treated wood. It also works on surfaces painted white or in neutral tones, where the contrast gives it presence without being eye-catching. If several wall lights are installed on the same facade, the result is neat and coherent thanks to the simplicity of the design.

This outdoor spotlight is a practical option for those looking for a no-fuss lighting solution: the LED is already included, the mounting is direct to the wall and maintenance is minimal. It does not require frequent checks or bulb replacements in the short term.

Questions and answers

Can this wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The KOV wall light is designed to be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions, allowing the orientation of the light beam to be adapted according to the available cable outlet or the desired lighting direction.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The wall light incorporates a 6W COB LED with a colour temperature of 2700K, ready to connect without the need to purchase any additional components.

Does the drainage system require periodic maintenance?

It is advisable to check it occasionally to ensure it is not blocked by dirt or debris. A visual inspection from time to time is sufficient to ensure that water does not accumulate inside the body of the wall light.
