Overview

The GRADA wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It is intended to illuminate terraces, gardens, entrances, and passageways where clean, constant downward-directed light is needed. The light beam points downward, which allows the ground or path to be clearly marked without creating annoying reflections or over-illuminating the surroundings.

The lamp has a very slim profile — just 46 mm deep — and sits directly against the wall without protruding. This makes it compatible with spaces where passage is narrow or where the wall light should not be too visible during the day. The dark grey aluminium finish holds up well outdoors and requires no special attention.

FARO is a brand with decades of experience in lighting, with a particularly strong presence in the outdoor segment. Their luminaires combine real functionality with a contemporary design that fits well on modern facades and all types of residential environments.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation: The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the included anchor points. Before starting assembly, the power must be switched off at the electrical panel. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially outdoors where cables are exposed to moisture. Make sure the wall surface is clean, level, and dry before anchoring the bracket. The wiring must be well protected from the wall outlet to the luminaire entry point.

Use and maintenance: The aluminium surface can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The opal glass diffuser can be gently cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected. Although the luminaire is designed for outdoor use, avoid subjecting it to direct knocks or mechanical impacts that could compromise the aluminium body.

Design and use

GRADA is an elongated wall light, with a length of 600 mm and a height of 128 mm. The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines structural strength with a contained weight. The dark grey finish gives it a discreet appearance that does not compete with other elements of the facade. During the day it goes practically unnoticed; when night falls, it does its job well.

The diffuser is made of glass with an opal finish. This means the light does not come out concentrated at a single point, but is distributed evenly along the entire piece. The result is soft illumination that covers the ground or the lower section of the wall well, without creating marked shadow areas or dazzling anyone nearby. The colour temperature is 3000K, which corresponds to warm light, similar to classic incandescent light. It is a tone that works well in gardens and terraces, where cool light tends to feel too harsh.

The light source is a 12W SMD LED and is included. You do not need to purchase any additional bulb to get the lamp up and running from the very first moment. The driver is also included, which simplifies installation and ensures that all components are compatible with each other.

The wall light is aimed at outdoor passageways: garden paths, home entrances, garage accesses, open-air staircases, or terrace areas where the route needs to be clearly marked at night. It also fits on boundary walls or facades where functional light is needed without installing a bulky lantern. The lamp can be placed individually or in series along a wall, creating a continuous line of light that naturally guides the way.

The design is contemporary and clean, without ornamentation. This makes it compatible with both current straight-line architecture and renovation projects where a modern finish is sought. The dark grey colour of the aluminium handles temperature changes and sun exposure well, which are common conditions outdoors. It does not accumulate heat visibly and maintains its original appearance without the need for additional treatments.

From an installation standpoint, the 46 mm depth profile allows it to be mounted on walls with limited available space. It does not require a bulky junction box or special anchors beyond those already included by the manufacturer.

Questions and answers

Does the GRADA wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 12W SMD LED light source and the driver. You do not need to purchase any additional components for the lighting.

Does the opal glass diffuser concentrate the light at a single point or distribute it?

The opal glass spreads the light evenly along the wall light. It does not create a concentrated spotlight, but rather continuous illumination without marked shadow areas.

Does the dark grey aluminium body require any special treatment after prolonged exposure to sun and outdoor conditions?

No additional treatments are required. Aluminium with a dark grey finish is a stable material that handles sun exposure and the typical temperature changes of outdoor environments well. Periodic cleaning with a damp cloth is sufficient.
