Overview

DORO is a wall light for outdoor use, designed to illuminate entrances, facades, terraces and garden areas. It operates with integrated SMD LED technology and projects light on both sides, allowing it to evenly illuminate both the wall surface and the space in front of it.

The body combines aluminium and teak wood, with a prismatic glass diffuser. This combination of materials gives it a warm and natural character, without compromising the durability required of an outdoor luminaire. The IP65 protection rating makes it suitable for direct rain and dust, so it withstands weather conditions well without the need for additional protection.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products are designed to last and maintain the same appearance year after year, without degrading in sun or humidity.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, check that the wall surface is clean, dry and level. As this is an outdoor lamp, it is recommended that the wiring be protected with corrugated conduit and that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure to cut the power before making any connections. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the included anchors, following the manufacturer's instructions.

For maintenance, clean the body surface with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the teak wood or the glass. Periodically check the seals and gaskets to confirm that the IP65 rating is maintained in good condition. Do not remove the glass diffuser without turning off the lamp and allowing it to cool.

Design and use

The DORO wall light by FARO takes up little space on the wall but achieves a clear visual presence. Its 222 mm length and barely 51 mm height make it discreet in size, but the teak wood finish gives it a warm visual weight that does not go unnoticed. It is the kind of luminaire that does not need to draw excessive attention: it simply fits in well and does its job.

The body structure combines aluminium and wood, two materials that perform well outdoors when properly treated. The aluminium provides rigidity and corrosion resistance, while the teak gives that golden brown tone that ages gracefully even under the sun. The lamp will not fade after a season nor will it lose its appearance due to rain or ambient humidity.

The prismatic glass diffuser has a particular behaviour with light: it distributes it in several directions with small intensity variations that make the result visually pleasant. It is not a flat or uniform light in the industrial sense, but rather nuanced, which gives it a more homely character.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to that of the classic incandescent bulb. This tone works best in residential settings: it does not tire the eyes, does not distort the colours of the surroundings, and creates a sense of calm when night falls. A cool spotlight at an entrance or in a garden often gives a cold feeling that is not inviting. This wall light avoids that problem.

The projection of light on both sides is useful when you want to illuminate both the lower area of the wall and the walkway. On a terrace, for example, this means the floor receives enough light to move around without tripping, while the wall is also illuminated. In the garden it works well flanking a door or placed on a wall that delimits the perimeter of the home.

The IP65 rating makes it suitable for outdoor installations directly exposed to water. Rain, sprinkler irrigation, coastal humidity: the wall light is prepared for these types of conditions. This is a concrete advantage for those who live in areas with frequent rainfall or near the sea, where humidity greatly affects unprotected materials.

The SMD LED light source is already included, so there is no need to search for compatible bulbs or worry about the socket type. The lamp works from the very first moment. With a consumption of 2x6.5 W, the electrical demand is low for what it offers in terms of light coverage.

The wall light fits well on facades with a Mediterranean, rustic or contemporary style featuring natural elements. It also combines with outdoor spaces that mix wood and stone, or with country houses looking for functional lighting without sacrificing a refined appearance. On a terrace with wooden furniture, the teak finish of the body integrates naturally without the need to seek out combinations. Next to a front door, it welcomes with warm light and a design that blends seamlessly with any neutral or natural style.

Questions and answers

Is the LED lamp included in the DORO wall light replaceable if it breaks?

The SMD LED light source is integrated into the luminaire. In the event of a fault, we recommend contacting our customer service before attempting any replacement, as the module type requires specific compatibility.

Does the DORO wall light withstand direct rain or does it need to be under some kind of overhang?

The IP65 protection rating protects it against direct rain and dust ingress, so it does not need to be covered. It can be installed on fully exposed facades and walls.

Does the light from the DORO wall light project only to one side or does it also illuminate upwards and downwards?

The light projects on both sides of the body, allowing it to illuminate both the upper and lower areas around the wall light. This is useful for entrances, doors or any point where wider coverage is desired.
